  1. First Clips Of Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in Macbeth

No, I'm NOT calling it "The Scottish Film."

OMG, Shakespeare nerds - get excited! Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender as the titular king and Marion Cotillard as his power-hungry queen premiered at Cannes, and now they've released two teensy clips to whet our appetites for more medieval Scottish scheming.

  4. The Little Prince Movie Gets Director, Oscar-Winning Actors For Me To Be Worried At

I'm In A Glass Case of Emotion

I'm not exactly sure why I'm so worried about this animated adaptation of The Little Prince. It's not like Antoine de Saint-Exupery's classic children's novella is untouched by the hands of film and TV. And there's nothing wrong with adaptation on a basic level. There's just something about the notion of a star-filled version of the notoriously sad book that puts me on high alert. Don't happi-fy this one, Hollywood. That said, the actors involved give me no small bit of hope.

Gary Oldman, stop yelling at singing prophet David Bowie. And Marion Cotillard, you've got red on you. Warning for breasts, blood, creepy eyelashes, and extreme religious symbolism. (via: Vulture Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

  6. Rumor Mill: Are Nolan and Bale On Board for Justice League? [Video]

We can't overstate just how much this is only a rumor, but it looks like Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale could be diving back into the DC Universe with the upcoming Justice League movie. They've both repeatedly and publicly said they are done with Batman and are moving on, but Latino Review is saying otherwise. Some parts of these rumors are more believable than others, so let's break down the finer details, shall we?

Look, Marion Cotillard wasn't fooling any well-versed Batman fan when Christopher Nolan cast her as a no-name character in The Dark Knight Rises. We didn't exactly call her a liar as she flatly denied rumors before the film came out, but we knew she was lying. And we were right. And now MTV has officially called her on it. What do you think her response was? (via Spinoff) Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

  9. Damon Lindelof Doesn’t Want To Give Too Much Away About Star Trek 2 But Is That A Klingon?

    KHAAAAAN

Producer Damon Lindelof, like everyone else involved with the film, has been tight-lipped about the details of the forthcoming Star Trek sequel but he recently did an interview with TrekMovie.com in which he talked about the film without actually talking about the film. He did, however, mention the first look of the film will likely be granted to the San Diego Comic-Con audience. There's also this pesky image from the MTV Movie Awards with director J.J. Abrams which may or may not feature a Klingon.

  10. Nice Try, Marion Cotillard, We Don’t Believe What You Just Said About Your Dark Knight Rises Character

    Lies Damned Lies

Christopher Nolan is known for being extra-secrative about his films, especially his Batman films, but that doesn't stop fans from speculating on the tiniest clues. In the case of Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, who's playing Miranda Tate in The Dark Knight Rises, there was next to nothing to go on but the actress has gone on the record to shoot down one really big fan theory. Hit the jump to find out what it is. That is, if you want to know, we'll obviously be discussing spoilery things from here on out.

    Meddling Kids

Movies really like to pack in villains these days, don't they? Remember when it was the norm for one hero to go up against one adversary? Turns out, another Batman villain will be making an appearance in Christopher Nolan's Batman swan-song, The Dark Knight Rises. How do we know this? A little kid's mom spilled the beans. No, seriously. Read on for the big spoiler.

  12. Did Marion Cotillard Just Deny All Rumors That She’s Talia Head?

    A Lesson in Humility

Marion Cotillard, who are you in The Dark Knight Rises? I know that casting sheet says you're Miranda Tate, Wayne Enterprises board member who's trying to help Bruce Wayne become a successful philanthropist like his father. But we all know that Christopher Nolan would not have hired you, an Oscar Award winning actress, to play a bit character who only interacts with half of Christian Bale's character. Just like he wouldn't hire Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play a cop that shows up in two scenes. No: both of you are obviously going to have major roles. And that's not even the end of the evidence that lies before us!

  15. The Dark Knight Rises Gets Another Confirmed Villain

    and let it be known

Over here at the Official The Mary Sue The Dark Knight Rises Breaking Newsometer and Speculate-erator (TM), we've been waiting expectantly on the confirmation of another villain for TDRK. Sure, the movie is pretty much cast and has even started filming in India and London, but so far there are only two confirmed big-name villains that appear in it, and for a Christopher Nolan Batman film, that is clearly waaay too few, especially when Catwoman has never been so much a villain as a wildcard. The Dark Knight had four recognizable villain names on its cast (Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Sal Maroni) and Begins had six (Henri Ducard, Scarecrow, Carmine Falcone, Ra's al Ghul, Joe Chill, and Victor Zsasz). And, as we expected, here's our first bit of news to support this (entirely scientifically accurate and rigorous) statistical history of Nolan Batman movies: Matthew Modine, who has been cast as a character named Nixon, is "a politician and a key villain,” at least according to Showbiz 411.

  16. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard’s Actual Roles in The Dark Knight Rises

    Officially Official

In which Susana laughs at the Internet Speculation Machine. Okay everybody. After months of the internet tossing out ideas and getting really excited about them, and months of Marion Cotillard saying that she had a summer project but not which one specifically, we now know: Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon Levitt will both be in The Dark Knight Rises. They are not playing anyone you have ever heard of.

  17. The Dark Knight Rises Finds Its Ra’s Al Ghul, Shoot Location

    Officially Official

A new villain has been confirmed for The Dark Knight Rises: Josh Pence has been cast as Ra's Al Ghul, who made an appearance in Batman Begins. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pence will play a younger version of Ra's Al Ghul in flashbacks that take place 30 years prior to TDKR. Liam Neeson had played the present-day version, who was the leader of the League of Shadows. This sheds light on which role Marion Cotillard will be playing, now possibly that of Al Ghul's daughter, Talia Al Ghul. So, if we're keeping score, that's Ra's Al Ghul (in flashbacks), Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), maybe-not-the-Holiday Killer (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and Bane (Tom Hardy). And another unconfirmed role for Juno Temple. Future news: The Dark Knight Rises might be four hours long. (Which might be okay.)

  18. Marion Cotillard In The Dark Knight Rises

    Good News Everyone!

We received the best Valentine's Day present ever with the news from People Magazine, who got it from the French paper Le Parisen, that Marion Cotillard signed on to the production of The Dark Knight Rises this Saturday.  Other news outlets are a little more cautious, reporting that the actress and Inception star is merely in negotiations at this point and nothing is confirmed.  But, seeing as how Cotillard has already worked with Christopher Nolan, and it seems that she wouldn't need to start filming until June, after the birth of her child, we have a good feeling about this one. Of course, that has absolutely nothing to do with how Marion Cotillard is my first pic to play pretty much anyone in TDKR, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, Lady Shiva, you name it.  So I don't much mind that there's absolutely no news so far about who exactly, Cotillard will be portraying.
