  5. Director Marc Webb Reveals First Look at Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Rhino

I don't think it had really hit me yet that the person playing Aleksei Sytsevich, as in the Rhino, in Amazing Spider-Man 2 is Paul Giamatti. Like, I knew it was Giamatti, but I still couldn't wrap my head around the idea of the guy from Lady in the Water is going to be playing a part known for its giant rhinoceros suit. But now that director Marc Webb went ahead and tweeted an image of Giamatti as Sytsevich...well, it's honestly still hard to wrap my head around it.

  7. Uncle Ben Will Be in The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel, But Let’s Not Freak Out Just Yet

    My Spidey Sense Is Tingling

Martin Sheen has joked before about making Uncle Ben's death in The Amazing Spider-Man a dream sequence so he could return in the sequel, and now it looks like he's getting his wish, at least partially: Sheen has confirmed that he will indeed be reprising his role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

In Which We Make A Terrible Pun

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 might be getting Foxxier. It's been confirmed that the villain in the Marc Webb-directed superhero sequel, slated for release in 2014, will be Electro, and Variety reported yesterday that Jamie Foxx is in early talks to play him. Foxx has yet to officially join the cast, though a Tweet he posted yesterday ("Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well.") confirms at the very least that he's interested in playing Electro, legal name Max Dillon, an electrical engineer who was transformed into a living electrical capacitor by a freak lightning strike.

  11. Andrew Garfield to Don the Spandex Suit Again in The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel

    My Spidey Sense Is Tingling

Was there ever any doubt? As of yesterday, floppy-haired Peter Parker Andrew Garfield has officially signed on star in the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. But all that's been worked out (dare we say… untangled?) now.

  14. James Franco and Bill Hader Wish Sam Raimi Happy Birthday, Spider-Man 4 Style

Any geek will know, of course, that October 23 is Sam Raimi's birthday. Why then, have James Franco and Bill Hader released this Spider-Man 4 viral video for Funny or Die, in honor of the director's birthday ... today? For one it's certainly topical, with rumors swirling around about who will be the next Spider-Man in the upcoming Marc Webb reboot. And two, I ask: Why not wish him a very early birthday? I've been a fan of Franco's Funny or Die videos for a while; that he's willing to be self-deprecating always makes for a good laugh. In the video, Franco confronts his inner Willem Dafoe over being killed off in the third film. Little known trivia: Hader in fact worked as a PA on the first film. He also does a killer Dafoe laugh impression. Video below:

Hitfix's anonymous sources are telling it that Logan Lerman, the young star of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, is "almost 100% locked" into the role of Spider-Man in Marc Webb's as-yet-untitled franchise reboot.

When Sony Pictures decided to reboot "Spider-Man," speculation began immediately, and Lerman was one of the early names bandied about. At the time, those conversations were premature, but it appears that the process has brought Sony back around to the young actor, and now he is poised to wear the familiar red-and-blue costume after all.
