We have some brand new casting notices for two Hollywood monster films and these new versions of Frankenstein and Dracula's stories have familiar faces.
and let it be known
"It is important for ‘Crow’ fans to understand that Relativity, Javier [Gutierrez], Luke [Evans] and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself. I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon [Lee] and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project." - writer James O'Barr to Variety on the fan-dreaded Crow reboot. O'Barr created the comic back in the 80s which went on to become the film starring Lee in 1994. We previously heard Evans had been cast in the title role and was actually a fan himself. "I remember it vividly from when I was a kid. It still resonates to this day.” Variety also says O'Barr has signed on as creative consultant for the film and will be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this year. (via io9)

and let it be knownSince we found out Luke Evans nabbed the lead role in The Crow reboot, it's fair game for reporters to try and get him to talk about it. Thanks to press for Fast & Furious 6, someone got first crack and we found out the actor is no stranger to The Crow.
Submitted For Your ApprovalThe story goes something like this: Once upon a time, Relativity Media decided to remake The Crow. They really wanted Luke Evans to play the lead, but between playing Dracula and Bard the Bowman he's a really busy dude. They (allegedly) considered some other actors, among them Alexander Skarsgård, James McAvoy, and Tom Hiddleston. But they then decided, no, we'll just wait for Evans' schedule to clear up. And they all lived happily ever after
if the movie's good.
All this has happened before...He's played a Aramis, Apollo, and Zeus in his time but actor Luke Evans is ready to take on another classic role; that of Dracula in Universal's vampire origin story.
There And Back AgainWe've seen a lot of posters for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in the last few months but we were especially impressed with their extra wide banner poster. Now we get the reverse effect! Check out a few new posters, one new promo shot, and two set shots featuring Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman! (via Collider)
