Behold: Lauren Faust’s Childhood My Little Pony Collection

It’s one thing when an adult faces the fact that it’s time to put those childhood toys in indefinite storage. It’s quite another when the adult crafted an immensely popular television reboot of those toys. Lauren Faust, creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, tweeted her preparation of the toys for storage, including pictures of the classic MLP characters who inspired the modern ones.

OMG: Super Best Friends Forever Exclusive Merchandise At SDCC This Year

If you love the Lauren Faust created DC Nation short, Super Best Friends Forever, you’re in luck. Although we won’t be seeing any more animated shorts (at least anytime soon), DC has made the wise decision to create a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive statue set. USA Today has the rest of the DC con exclusives but we have tunnel vision right now. Take our money. Take it now. The three together will run $49.95 and of course, you’ll have to physically be at SDCC or know someone going to get one. Or risk scary Ebay prices after the fact.

The Mary Sue Interviews My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s Tara Strong

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic airs a very special episode tomorrow on The Hub in which the lovable and charismatic Twilight Sparkle is changing. To find out how much, we spoke with the talented woman who provides her voice on the series, Tara Strong. Hear what she had to say about Pony fandom, the upcoming Teen Titans Go!, and the one animated venue she’d still love to visit.

New Powerpuff Girls Special Coming To Cartoon Network Plus A DC Nation Shake-Up

Cartoon Network is busy presenting their upcoming roster of shows for advertisers and we’ve seen some interesting developments. For one, there’s an all-new Powerpuff Girls special making its way to the network but Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and Young Justice are notably absent. Could this mean what we think it means? It sure can considering two new DC shows are premiering soon.

Listen To Star Trek’s Q Sing The History Of My Little Pony, As A My Little Pony

We’ve seen John de Lancie do a lot of ridiculous things thanks to his time as Q on Star Trek: The Next Generation but this…this is something to behold. “Let’s Go and Meet the Bronies” was written by Lauren Faust, Amy Keating Rogers, and Zachary Lobertini and is part of a larger My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic documentary about the fandom. De Lancie voices Discord on the animated series and star Tara Strong adds her vocal stylings to the mix near the end. My life is better for watching this.

Super Best Friends Forever Will Not Continue With the Next Season of DC Nation

Lauren Faust tweeted this picture last night along with the text “Been missing these ladies lately…” This prompted our fellow ladies in comics blogger Sue from DC Women Kicking Ass to press for more information, and Faust, the showrunner behind My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and The Super Best Friends Forever shorts for the DC Nation hour on Cartoon Network, confirmed the sad news that when DC Nation finally returns from an unexpected hiatus in January, we won’t be seeing any more of the SBFF’s brand of equal opportunity crime fighting any time soon.

Monday Cute: The Only Way to Stop a Battle Between Supergirl and Superman Is a Super Mom

Okay, so I might have given away the ending gag in the title, but the best gag in the short also features someone’s end, and I haven’t given it away yet, so you should probably just watch the short before I loose my composure.

Doctor Whooves: The Doctor Who/My Little Pony Cross-Over

We’ve seen Lauren Faust’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic mashed-up with a few of our fandoms previously. For instance, Scott Pilgrim, The Dark Knight, and Game of Thrones. We’ve also seen a few fan-made clips of the Doctor from Doctor Who as a pony and the David Tennant look-a-like has even made a few cameo appearances on the actual show (his cutie mark is an hour glass). But now…oh, now we have a whole episode featuring Doctor Whooves and his trusty companion. Hungry for more? Check out these My Little Pony figures done up like the cast of the famous sci-fi show while you’re waiting for episode 2 to premiere in a few months. Or, as YouTuber ocarinaplaya suggests, make a usable intro for the Doctor Whooves show (there were some rights issues)!

Things We Saw Today: A Man Wearing A TARDIS Suit

We’ve seen our fair share of women donning TARDIS dresses but I think this is the first time I’ve seen a man dressed up as a fancy dress TARDIS. Well, it happened this weekend at C2E2 in Chicago. (via Kate Kotler

Monday Cute: This Weekends Super Best Friends Forever Short with Batgirl and Poison Ivy

Another month, another of Lauren Faust‘s Super Best Friends Forever shorts, this one featuring a lot of gifts for the obsessive Batman fan, most of them in Barbara Gordon’s bedroom, which features two pieces of Batman wall art, three villain action figures (one of which is, I believe the Scarecrow in the style of The Batman Adventures) a Bat-mite plush and a Batman-head-shaped head board.

And also Commissioner Gordon and Poison Ivy!
