Allow us to explain.

Katee Sackhoff

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall, Oculus May Be The Scariest Movie Of All

When we first heard there was going to be a horror film starring both Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan and Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff, we knew it was a must-see. Lucky for us, we were invited to an early screening of Relativity Media’s Oculus to see the horror for ourselves. We’re not ashamed to say, we’re still shaking in our boots.

Fear is the Mind Killer

Karen Gillan & Katee Sackhoff’s Oculus Might Be The Most Horrifying Film Ever

Ok, maybe not ever, ever but holy crap, this looks scary as hell. And that makes me want to see it even more. And look at Karen Gillan go with her American accent! (Here’s the first trailer if you missed it.)

The long-discussed Expendables spinoff, The Expendabelles (you either love that title or hate it), has finally wrangled a director. We were hoping for a lady to lead this all lady team but this gentleman has directed a film we love so we can’t be too mad. Read on to find out who he is, plus details on what could be another badass lady-fighter film.

Bloody Good Fun

Starbuck & Amy Pond Star In The First Trailer For Oculus

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of moving images from the thriller Oculus which features Katee Sackhoff as Karen Gillan’s mom. And now we will see you all later, we’re going to find ourselves some covers to hide under.

Katee Sackhoff and Jamie Bamber Lay Down Some Real Talk About Sexism In The Industry

At Dallas Comic Con last week, Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff and Jamie Bamber discussed expectations of women in film and television. It’s a truth bomb.

Hold Your Breath, Katee Sackhoff Clarifies Those Marvel Rumors

Considering we’ve been freaking out over the possibility of Katee Sackhoff joining the Marvel Universe, we’re glad someone decided to ask her to clarify her recent comments. But is the news good or bad? Hit the jump to find out!

Riddick Me This: What’s Sexism Got to Do With Monsters?

It may surprise readers to learn this, but when I go to the movies, I still hold out hope that I will get what is advertised, whether it be an entertaining escape, a learning experience, a meaningful message, or enough explosives (or Kyrptonians) to take down a major city. But Hollywood continues to trip my internal alarms with its third installment of the Riddick series (if we are not including his forays into animated shorts or video games), starring the gravel-voiced Vin Diesel. What could have – and should have – been a good time with monsters, mercenaries, and R-rated gore is instead a motherload of sexist tropes and a weary third act. Tired yet? We’ve only just begun.

Did… Did Disney Just Approach Katee Sackhoff About Captain Marvel?

Remember how Marvel Studios’ Louis D’Esposito mentioned they might have Captain Marvel on the brain? You should. We posted about it, like, three hours ago. Nobody freak out, because this might not necessarily be related, but Katee Sackhoff mentioned on the Schmoes Know podcast that “there’s been some stuff going on” between her and Disney, including “a lot of checking of availability for the first quarter of next year.”

I said don’t freak out!

Oh, who’m I kidding? This is totally worth freaking out over. And even if Disney, which owns Marvel, isn’t testing the waters with Sackhoff to play Captain Marvel (please please please let them be doing that, pleasepleasplease), we’ll always have that GEEK Magazine photoshoot she did where she posed with a Dalek and dressed up as Tyler Durden, Captain Kirk, an Orion slave girl, and Tom Baker‘s Doctor.

Because, as you can see from the pic to the left, that happened. Check out the video under the jump.
