Katee Sackhoff

  1. Katee Sackhoff Creating and Starring In Her Own Sci-Fi/Dystopia TV Series Like a BOSS

Starbuck does not approve of global warming.

One solution to the problem of there not being enough women represented on television is that more women need to find ways to tell their own stories. Thankfully, we now can add another female-led story to the mix. Battlestar Galactica and Longmire's Katee Sackhoff has created and will be starring a new sci-fi/dystopia series!

  2. Director of Power Rangers Gritty Reboot Fan Film Being ‘Harassed’ by Saban, Copyright Claim Made to Vimeo

    It's legislatin' time!

Yesterday the Internet was delighted and/or horrified by the release of Power/Rangers, a fan film from director Joseph Kahn featuring James Van Der Beek, Power Rangers, and Katee Sackhoff. But apparently Haim Saban, owner of the rights to the franchise and joint-producer of the upcoming Lionsgate Power Rangers film, was less than enthused by all of that free advertising.

  3. Katee Sackhoff Is the Baddest-Ass Pink Ranger in a Dark Power Rangers Fan Film With James Van Der Beek

    You're welcome.

Remember that adult-themed Power Rangers fan film you always wanted to make? (Come on. Don't lie.) This is it, and yes, that's really Katee Sackhoff playing the pink power ranger and James Van Der Creek—sorry, Beek. So yeah, exactly like you imagined it.

  4. Emily Blunt Comments On Captain Marvel Rumors, Calls Them “Kind of Amazing”

The rumors this weekend that Emily Blunt might have been cast to play Marvel's Carol Danvers in the upcoming Captain Marvel appear to be just that—rumors. Screencrush asked her about it over the weekend, and while the actress denied any involvement with the film, it seems like she's pretty into the idea now.

  6. Dave Bautista Isn’t Screwing Around with His Ice Bucket Challenge; Hemsworth, Sackhoff, D’Onofrio Also Accept

I like to think no one's challenged Scarlett Johansson yet because they're all too scared.

What's that? Two Thors accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? (Yes, Vincent D'Onofrio counts as a Thor–haven't you seen Adventures in Babysitting?) Katee Sackhoff's Ice Bucket Challenge is the most heartfelt I've seen so far—sadly, it is unembeddable, but you can see it here. The golden belt for this round (that's a wrestling thing, right?) has to go to Bautista, above, who isn't here for any weak ice bullcrap.

  7. Sorry, World. Katee Sackhoff Admits She Hasn’t Had Any Meetings With Marvel Yet.

    Nothin' but the rain.

It appears that the collective wishful thinking, Twittering, and amateur witchcraft (*quickly hides scented candles*) of the Internet hasn't gotten nerd icon Katee Sackhoff a meeting with Marvel, despite consistent (but always debunked) rumors that she'll play Captain Marvel. Frakkers.

  8. Sorry, Katee Sackhoff Isn’t Playing Captain Marvel, But She Totally Would If You Asked Her

    ATTN: Marvel.

Yesterday we told you about Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff teasing a “super secret job” on Twitter that some people thought might be Captain Marvel. Turns out the wishes and prayers of nerd boys and girls across the Internet weren't enough to make it so, as Sackhoff’s revealed that the movie she’s talking about isn’t a Marvel project.

  9. Katee Sackhoff Teases New “Super Secret Job”… Could It Be Marvelous?

    Wish fulfillment mode: On.

Katee Sackhoff's not been shy about the fact that she wants to play all the female superhero characters ever, so her Tweets teasing a new "super secret job" have got some people thinking Starbuck might be ditching her flight uniform for the gloves and jump suit of Captain Marvel. Check out the other two clues behind the cut.

  19. Riddick Me This: What’s Sexism Got to Do With Monsters?

It may surprise readers to learn this, but when I go to the movies, I still hold out hope that I will get what is advertised, whether it be an entertaining escape, a learning experience, a meaningful message, or enough explosives (or Kyrptonians) to take down a major city. But Hollywood continues to trip my internal alarms with its third installment of the Riddick series (if we are not including his forays into animated shorts or video games), starring the gravel-voiced Vin Diesel. What could have - and should have - been a good time with monsters, mercenaries, and R-rated gore is instead a motherload of sexist tropes and a weary third act. Tired yet? We’ve only just begun.

  20. Did… Did Disney Just Approach Katee Sackhoff About Captain Marvel?

Remember how Marvel Studios' Louis D’Esposito mentioned they might have Captain Marvel on the brain? You should. We posted about it, like, three hours ago. Nobody freak out, because this might not necessarily be related, but Katee Sackhoff mentioned on the Schmoes Know podcast that "there's been some stuff going on" between her and Disney, including "a lot of checking of availability for the first quarter of next year." I said don't freak out! Oh, who'm I kidding? This is totally worth freaking out over. And even if Disney, which owns Marvel, isn't testing the waters with Sackhoff to play Captain Marvel (please please please let them be doing that, pleasepleasplease), we'll always have that GEEK Magazine photoshoot she did where she posed with a Dalek and dressed up as Tyler Durden, Captain Kirk, an Orion slave girl, and Tom Baker's Doctor. Because, as you can see from the pic to the left, that happened. Check out the video under the jump.
