Iron Man 3

  1. The Iron Man Trilogy, Remixed [VIDEO]

    Excelsior!

I'm in something of an Iron Man-y mood after having seen Iron Man 3 last night (my review: ASDFGHJKJHGFDS), so this video remix by Mike Relm, made using footage from all three movie and Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" (natch), really hit the spot. If you haven't seen it yet (let's have a moment of silence for Poland, where it's not released 'til May 9th), the Iron Man 3 footage Relm uses is all from the trailers or previously released promo clips, so there's nothing too spoilery. 2. The Only Thing Better Than a 3D Chalk Art Iron Man Helmet is Three 3D Chalk Art Iron Man Helmets [Video]

Chris Carlson is pretty good at creating 3D chalk art. Okay, less "pretty" and more "really." The videos of him doodling up things like the diamond sword from Minecraft are quite impressive, but his latest work takes the cake. It's not as large as some of his other projects, but Carlson's take on three of the helmets from the Iron Man movie franchise should definitely make you a fan of both him and the AWE me channel.

  4. Brace Yourself for Iron Man 3 With This Quick Animated Recap [Video]

Are you ready to see Iron Man 3 this weekend? I know I'm ready to see Iron Man 3 this weekend. If you happen to be joining the Stark train late in the game, there's three movies that you really need to read up on before seeing the latest and greatest. Iron ManIron Man 2, and The Avengers all feature heavy doses of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Thankfully, the National Post has a lovely animated recap prepared for just such an occasion.

Will we ever get tired of hearing Gwyneth Paltrow talk about suiting up for Iron Man 3? Probably at least not until we get to see the movie this weekend.

  7. Dinner and a Movie: Make Arc Reactor Pasta Before Seeing Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 opens this weekend, and sure, you could just go see the movie, or you could make a night out of it by preparing Tony Stark's Seductively Good Arc Reactor Pasta. That's right, in Kitchen Overlord's quest to make all food more awesome, nerd-chef Chris-Rachael Oseland created a recipe to make fettuccine alfredo look like an arc reactor. There's even a handy graphic.

  8. Iron Man 3 Beats The Avengers Opening World Wide Box Office, Should Enjoy This While it Lasts

    Excelsior!

For Americans, Iron Man 3, the first installment of Marve's Phase 2, is still tantalizingly out of reach, close and yet far on the other side of the work week. But for forty two other countries, it opened this weekend. And it opened pretty well.

  9. Joss Whedon Hints at Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Avengers 2

Here I was thinking that red carpet Hollywood premieres and the like were boring affairs for those watching from home. The one for Iron Man 3, which was yesterday, has suddenly turned that all around for me. See, in an interview with Yahoo! Movies, Joss Whedon dropped a huge hint about the possible appearance of a certain brother and sister in Avengers 2. Yeah, he's pretty much definitely referring to Wanda and Pietro Maximoff -- Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

  10. Stars Shine At The Iron Man 3 Red Carpet But Robert Downey Jr. Doesn’t Wear Anything Fun

    Excelsior!

Last night we posted a livestream of the Iron Man 3 premiere from the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Today, Disney has graciously shared some images from the red carpet and after party. I guess I was spoiled by Robert Downey Jr. in lederhosen but I'm a little let down he didn't wear anything wacky. Take a look at the stars from the film and see who else popped up from the Marvel Universe.

  11. Iron Man 3 Stars To Get a Different Sort of Suited Up at the Red Carpet Premiere. And We Have a Livestream! [VIDEO]

    Excelsior!

The red carpet premiere of Iron Man 3 starts at 9:00 PM EST (6:00 PST), and we have a livestream for you, you lucky ducks! I'm not sure if anything's going to go on besides people walking down a red carpet and occasionally being interviewed (is that all that happens at these things?), but even if there's isn't something super-cool like Robert Downey Jr. soaring into the theater wearing an Iron Man suit, the list of people who'll be walking the red carpet (most of the stars of The Avengers in addition to the Iron Man 3 cast. Plus Stan Lee!) is pretty impressive. Check back at nine and hit the jump to see if that rumor about Ben Kingsley showing up to all the premieres dressed as the Mandarin actually has something to it. In the meantime, you can always stare at Tony's grumpy face.

OK, technically it's called 4DX, not Smell-O-Vision, and "odor effects" is only one part of it. But "4DX" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

    i'll just leave this here

My apologies, Britons: the United Kingdom red carpet premiere of Iron Man has been delayed from its original date of next Wednesday due to the funeral of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher. But you're going to see it before any of us Yanks, so I guess our little Revolution wasn't all that great.

  18. Iron Man 3’s Rebecca Hall Says To Expect A “Refreshing” Female Dynamic Between Pepper & Maya

    Excelsior!

"The thing I really like about this storyline is that everyone assumes, 'Oh, this is going to be some sort of love triangle, and it's going to be some massive cat fight between Pepper and Maya,' and it was never that on the page. Instead, they did what the Iron Man franchise has nearly always done, which is sort of subvert expectations and stereotypes and actually made it about two very smart women who understand this rather eccentric figure, Tony Stark. There is a sort of bonding that happens between them because of that, and they are very funny about it. It's not at all what you expect, which I think is much more true to life and was refreshing, frankly." - Iron Man 3's Rebecca Hall responding to a question from Marvel.com on how her character Maya's past with Tony Stark affects her relationship with Pepper Potts. 19. Marvel’s Sneak Peek at Phase 2: Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Guardians and Ant Man

    Excelsior!

MAHVEL by pepsiguy2 If you hang around anywhere that fandom congregates on the internet you might be wondering where all these gifs of new stuff from Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 footage and new concept art for Captain America 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy came from. Well, it's all about briefcases. Specifically, it's about when the makers of Nick Fury's chrome briefcase containing the Cosmic Cube tesseract sued Marvel for designing a very expensive DVD collection of all the Phase 1 Marvel movies that would be sold in a replica of that case. This led to Marvel having to delay the release of the Phase 1 collection for a while. In fact, it just came out this week. In that DVD collection is a five minute featurette on what's going on with Marvel Phase 2, which is where much of that new stuff is from. And now you can watch it too, at least until it gets pulled down for copyright reasons. Enjoy! Edit: Aaaaand it's been pulled down for copyright reasons. A one-minute Phase 2 Preview that Marvel uploaded instead is behind the jump. It's not as interesting, but what're you gonna do?

  20. Gwyneth Paltrow Talks About Suiting Up for Iron Man 3

    Excelsior!

Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed in an interview the other day that she will indeed be suiting up Iron Man 3, a bit of news that we couldn't be more excited about. Marvel has published the entire interview now, and so we can get even more info on how and when the decision to get Pepper in an Iron Man suit was made, and what it was like! Okay, I know wanting to know what it's like to be in an Iron Man suit is has a bit less entertainment journalist integrity to it compared to "how was the decision made to allow a female co-star to engage in some of the movie's action in a dominant role made." But... Iron Man suit!
