Iron Man 2

Excelsior!

The Iron Man Trilogy, Remixed [VIDEO]

I’m in something of an Iron Man-y mood after having seen Iron Man 3 last night (my review: ASDFGHJKJHGFDS), so this video remix by Mike Relm, made using footage from all three movie and Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” (natch), really hit the spot. If you haven’t seen it yet (let’s have a moment of silence for Poland, where it’s not released ’til May 9th), the Iron Man 3 footage Relm uses is all from the trailers or previously released promo clips, so there’s nothing too spoilery.

The Stylized DVD Jackets for Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Are Really Pretty

Sometimes you just need to look at some eye-candy. And this time that eye-candy doesn’t even involve any actual people! Instead, we invite you to feast your eyes on the artwork for Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One—Avengers Assembled. Yes, it’s a mouthful, but the eye-full is much easier to…swallow? Take in? In any case, Marvel Cinematic Universe is a deluxe six-movie set of all the Avengers tie-in films, and the sleeves for the individual films are quite artfully minimalistic. Just take my money, Marvel! Take it!

Emily Blunt Thinks Women’s Roles In Superhero Films Are Fairly Terrible

Emily Blunt, actress in The Devil Wears Prada, The Young Victoria, and The Jane Austen Book Club, has been up for some major roles in blockbuster superhero films over the last few years. Yet she hasn’t taken a single one and with good reason: She thinks the women in superhero films get the short end of the stick. Thank you, Ms. Blunt.

Mickey Rourke Says Marvel Execs Just Want To Make “Mindless Comic Book Movies”

Mickey Rourke will soon be seen in Tarsem Singh’s Immortals but he’s apparently still pretty angry over his role in Iron Man 2. In a recent interview he expressed his frustrations over Marvel’s control of the superhero sequel and thinks they only want to make “mindless comic book movies.”

Shane Black Will Write and Direct Iron Man 3, Making It a Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Reunion!

After a lackluster Part 2, the Iron Man franchise will be rejuvenated thanks to Hollywood wunderkind Shane Black, a guy who not only gets along great with his new star Robert Downey Jr., but a guy who can write successful blockbuster screenplays in six weeks time. The two first worked together on Black’s first directorial effort, 2005′s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which had a $15 million budget and was about a petty criminal who accidentally finds himself cast in a Hollywood film. Obviously, none of that will come into play for a Marvel movie, but it proves that the team of Black & Downey is a very, very fun one.

And So It Begins

Hey, Want to See a Preview of One of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. Shorts?

Last month, we told you about a series of short films that were being produced by Marvel, and now we know a bit more about them. Rather than spotlighting more obscure Marvel characters, the shorts will serve to “fill in the gaps” of The Avengers. And the first one, entitled “The Consultant” and featuring Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), seems to take place after Iron Man 2 and post-The Incredible Hulk.
