Disney-Run LucasFilm Will Churn Out Two Or Three Films A Year Says Kathleen Kennedy

Upon finding out Disney was purchasing LucasFilm, we knew we’d at least be getting three new Star Wars movies. A few other ideas were floated around but it was probably silly of us to think the projects would be limited. President of LucasFilm, Kathleen Kennedy recently went on record with a pretty lofty goal – two to three films a year.

Patrick Schoenmaker Illustrates Our Childhood With Star Wars, Gremlins, & Indy

Artist Patrick Schoenmaker has done work for both commercial and non-commercial entities but he’s just a normal fan like you or I. Well, maybe not exactly. Schoenmaker is working on an Indiana Jones animated project “just for fun.” Can’t say I’ve ever attempted the same. Raiders of the Lost Ark, All In One Gif

Brought to our eyeballs by the same person who gave us each of the original Star Wars movies in one gif, here’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, again, all as one animated gif. Also on PixelMash Theater‘s Website: The other two Indiana Jones films (Kingdom of the Crystal what now? Sorry. Never heard of it.), Purgatory 1, 2, and 3, Aliens, and Back to the Future. Apparently they’ve all been around for a while, but the Star Wars gifs are the only ones I’d seen before.

I know what I’m doing this weekend! …Actually, probably watching a real movie. But still! These are pretty impressive. Check out Raiders after the jump.

Buddhist Iron Man Discovered by Nazis Came from Outer Space

It’s like Indiana Jones, Marvel and 2001: A Space Odyssey all in one story. Scientists have discovered that an “Iron Man” sculpture discovered by Nazis, likely as part of a 1938-39 exhibition to Tibet, was carved out of an iron meteorite fragment that probably fell to earth between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago.

BAD IDEAS FROM SMART PEOPLE

Indiana Jones 5 Is Still Happening According To Karen Allen (Sigh)

When last we heard about Indiana Jones 5, producer Frank Marshall said George Lucas wasn’t writing it and that it wasn’t likely to happen at all. Marion Ravenwood begs to differ. I mean, actress Karen Allen does. And if you think she’s talking out of her ear, think again. She checked with Steven Spielberg first.
