  1. No Touchy: Hot Toys Are Making Life-Size Versions of the Age of Ultron Cast

You know how people are always saying how realistic Hot Toys figures are? Well the upcoming “Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Exhibition” Asia tour is gonna blow your mind.

  2. New Age of Ultron Hot Toys Show Off Our Fave Avengers’ New Movie Costumes

There are no strings on these.

Toy-People.com hit up Hong Kong's Toy Soul 2014, and were able to get some photos of the Hot Toys for Avengers: Age of Ultron. This is particularly cool because it's our first real look at our heroes' updated costumes for the new Whedon flick. I particularly love Widow's new jumpsuit - the blue trim is sharp - and is she fighting with some Mockingbird/Nebula hybrid electrical sticks?

  3. Wings Not Included: Our Review Of The Sideshow Collectibles Maleficent Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys

Those tiny cheekbones could cut glass.

Sideshow Collectibles provided The Mary Sue with a Maleficent Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys for review and as it turns out, she's just as photographable as Angelina Jolie herself.

  4. Things We Saw Today: Who Needs a Christmas Tree When You’ve Got A Little Groot?

Groot tidings we bring, to you and your kin!

Hot Toys' Little Groot is a mere $44.99 (well, mere compared to their Star-Lord figurine), with expected shipment in January.

  5. Hot Toys’ Posable, Sixth Scale Star-Lord Figurine Is Here And So Ready For His Dance Off

    Come and get your love!

Sure, we've all swooned for various collectible incarnations of dancing Groot, but I never dared hope that a mere figurine could capture the swaggering ass-holery of one Peter Quill. Oh, was I wrong.

  8. Hot Toys’ Gamora Figure Will Beat Up All Your Other Figures

    Whoa.

At this time, we can neither confirm nor deny reports that Hot Toys has successfully cloned Zoe Saldana. Nor can we confirm that they are in possession of a shrink ray.

  9. We’re Really (Hooked On a) Feeling Hot Toys’ New Groot and Rocket Raccoon Figures From Sideshow

    Birthday lists at the ready.

As always when it's Hot Toys, this new Groot and Rocket Raccoon figure combo isn't exactly cheap—it'll set you back $359 all together, or $199 for Groot and $159 for Rocket individually. I can only imagine the horror Rocket would feel upon realizing his tree pal costs more than him. It's only 'cause you're shorter, buddy. No hard feelings.

  10. Great Scott! Check Out the Sideshow Exclusive Marty McFly Hot Toys Figure

    This is my density.

I was able to get up close and personal with Sideshow Collectible new and upcoming statues and figures at San Diego Comic-Con. While I'm constantly impressed with their detail and overall magnificence, none at the show hit me quite in the feels as their exclusive Marty McFly Hot Toys figure.

  11. SDCC Toy Roundup: Final Fantasy Batman, Hot Toys Marty McFly, Darth Vader Hot Wheels, and Sailor Moon Buddies

    Preorder all the things!

Luckily for those of us who aren't currently attending San Diego Comic-Con, not being part of the fun means you also aren't hemorrhaging money out the wazoo on all the tuff you could buy there. But given the amount of toys being debuted at the con this weekend, it's only a matter of time before we, too, can be broke in the name of nerdy collectibles.

  13. Hot Toys’ Black Widow, For All Your Tiny Scarlett Johansson Needs

    Supergirly

Another Marvel movie, another selection of eerily realistic action figures from Hot Toys, this time with everyone's favorite product of the Cold War, Black Widow. She even comes with lit-up Widows Bite gauntlets, the better to pose her electrocuting my Lex Luthor action figure. Or jumpstarting my Portal turret. Oh who am I kidding, I can't afford this figure, so, like you, I will be gazing at these scarily accurate pictures of it instead.

  14. We’re Not So Sure About This Avengers/Star Wars Costume Swap

TK-421 Why Aren't You At Your Post?

Although this costume swap with The Avengers and Star Wars Hot Toys by redditor OdoWanKenobi is a fun idea, we were thinking it's sad Black Widow was relegated to pretty much the only woman available (especially when Leia doesn't really fit with her character). Susana decided Black Widow and Hawkeye should really be the R2-D2 and C-3PO of the cast. You can guess which is which. Bravo on The Hulk though. 15. Hot Toys Releasing An Iron Man Figure With No Armor, Who’s Really Beat Up, And Has Lots Of Toys

    Excelsior!

Now that I own a Hot Toys figure, I can personally attest to their quality but while they've already produced a few Iron Man collectibles, they've decided to put out another, mostly armor-less one. "Hot Toys is thrilled to introduce the Tony Stark (The Mechanic) Collectible Figurine after the exciting scene where Tony Stark creates homemade weapons to infiltrate The Mandarin’s mansion," they write on Facebook. "Tony Stark in his battle damaged civilian attire in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head sculpt, an advanced body with light-up chest light and greatly detailed weapons and accessories." Take a look.

  16. This Collectable Captain America Figure is Eerily Realistic

    Excelsior!

This Captain America Star Spangled Man Version Limited Edition Collectible Figurine looks impressively similar to the Steve Rogers played by Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger. The figure even has stubble, 30 points of articulation, seven exchangeable hands, weapons, a shield, and the ability to convince you to buy war bonds. Check out two more photos of this prototype design after the jump, and head over to Hot Toys to learn how you might be able to get one of your own.

  17. Things We Saw Today: Clark Gregg Meets His Agent Coulson Doll

    Things We Saw Today

We previously showed you the reveal of the Marvel Agent Coulson Hot Toys figure but nothing beats actor Clark Gregg seeing it in person for the first time. I have to say, after finally getting my first Hot Toys figure (Terminator 2, Sarah Connor) this past week, I finally see what all the fuss is about. (via MTV)

  18. Bane Gets Back-Breaking Poses In His Lifelike TDKR Hot Toys Figure

    Holy Rusted Metal Batman!

Besides the artist who repaints character dolls, I'd probably say Hot Toys does the best job at replicating an actor's precise looks in doll form. Their Loki, based on Tom Hiddleston's character in The Avengers, still takes the cake for me but their recently revealed Bane from The Dark Knight Rises also does a pretty great job looking like actor Tom Hardy. This is also the first Hot Toys figure I've seen with its shirt off, which is vaguely uncomfortable. You'll see why... (Hot Toys on Facebook via MTV Splash Page)

    Things We Saw Today

  20. Shocker: Stop Motion With Freakishly Real-Looking Action Figures Produces Freaky Video

I See What They Did There

We like to joke a lot about Hot Toy's incredibly detailed character replica toys, and how, while they primarily fill us with awe and desire, they're also just a tiny bit creepy. Because they really, really look just like the movie stars they're modeled after. So really it was only a matter of time before somebody decided to try doing stop motion with them, and the result weaves in and out of the Uncanny Valley like the Batpod through traffic.
