  1. Melissa McCarthy To Play Tinker Bell In Live-Action Peter Pan; NBC Musical Releases Tiger Lily, Captain Hook Footage

With Nicolas Cage as Nana! (Let's manifest that casting, people.)

Sure, maybe we don't need another live-action Peter Pan, but I'm not complaining. Look what our fascination with perpetual adolescence hath wrought! Party City-wearing Christopher Walken as the world's most over-it Captain Hook! We are going to watch this "Tinkerbell adventure project," everyone, and we are going to like it.

  3. Cinefix Made a “Homemade” Version of Rufio’s Big Fight Scene From Hook With ACTUAL Rufio!

We love Cinefix and their "Homemade" remakes of movie scenes and trailers, but this one of the big fight scene from Hook wins double points for actually getting original Rufio actor Dante Basco to reprise his role. Bangarang, Cinefix. Bangarang.

  4. Dante Basco Reprises His Rufio Role In This Hook Recreation [VIDEO]

I'm In A Glass Case of Emotion

You know, a while back there was a rumor Rufio might show up on ABC's Once Upon a Time and I thought Dante Basco could have easily picked the role back up. This is proof I was right. Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

  5. Dante Basco Can’t Escape The Legacy of Rufio. Bangarang! [VIDEO]

    Almost Totally Excellent

I'm sure that actor Dante Basco has learned by now that once you play a fan favorite like Hook's Rufio, it's hard to shake the role, and I can only assume this is the trajectory of every audition Basco attends, including his Avatar: The Last Airbender audition, down to the gleeful humming. Really, though, the takeaway here is that YouTube comedians The Younger Statesmen know what the internet wants, and that at least one of Basco's auditions, way back in 1990, was actually like this.

  7. Summer Glau, Ron Perlman, and Elijah Wood To Voice Comic Book Characters In Alternate Peter Pan Story

How do you get someone to watch your motion comic? Cast Elijah Wood, Summer Glau, and Ron Perlman. They'll be voicing characters in Image Comic's Peter Panzerfaust, a World War II-set Peter Pan tale. And oh yeah, it's bringing Hook's Rufio, Dante Basco, back to Neverland as well.

    eye candy

The Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn, NY has only had two shows to date but they're proving themselves friendly to the geek crown with their third, "The Gang's All Here." That means we get different artists' looks at Harry Potter, Scooby Doo, and yes, even Hook. Check out just some of the amazing art up for sale at the gallery November 16. 9. Things We Saw Today: Inspector Spacetime Travels Through Space…and Time

    Things We Saw Today

Inspector Spacetime is a show we spend far too much of our time wishing was actually a show we could watch. We're not entirely sure we've accepted the fact that it is not (for now). Which is why we're glad when the internet humors us, as with this awesome fan art mocking up a poster of the Inspector and company. As Dan Harmon himself said when he saw it (and reblogged it), "this is really really really cool." (via Dan Harmon)

  10. Today in Things That Probably Won’t Happen: A Prequel to Hook That Is All About Rufio

    i'll just leave this here

According to the actor who played Rufio in Hook, there is going to be a prequel to the 1991 movie (which starred Robin Williams as a grown-up amnesiac Peter Pan) that is all about Rufio! Dante Basco told Crave Online that this thing is actually "in development" and will be produced by an independent film company. You know who had an "independent film company"? Me. I made movies with my parents' old video camera in the 1980s. While I wrote and performed the movie "independently," my dad "filmed" it, and my mom watched it while keeping me "company."

    Power Grid

So here's the simple explanation: 1. We were trying to think of a Power Grid. 2. We were hungry. That's it. I'm being perfectly serious. What you see before you is the product of a few people sitting down to write something about fandom when they didn't have any snacks on hand. We started thinking about fantasy food and then had to make a list out of it.

  12. A Peter Pan Movie We Won’t Get to See, But Here’s the Trailer [Video]

    this exists

This is a star-studded Peter Pan prequel that has been described as "a bold new take" on the original tale by J.M. Barrie and features Anna Friel, Keira Knightley, and Rhys Ifans, who appears to be playing a pre-pirate Captain Hook. Even more interesting: Bob Hoskins is reprising his role as Smee -- from Hook. Hook! (Bangarang!) But here's the bad news: it will be shown exclusively on the UK's Sky Movies HD channel, so many of us will not get to see it. At least not legally. Collider has a clip and images so we can at least take a peek. Hopefully, this will make it across the pond. (SyFy, can you hear me?) (The Daily What)
