We have eight hours and counting until Game of Thrones starts back up again. But when season three does get underway, it’ll be light on the Tyrion. It makes sense, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

I knew I made a great life choice living in New York. It just happens to be one of the stops on HBO and Time Warner Cable’s traveling Game of Thrones exhibition. The great part about this exhibition? It’s open to the public and free to enter! I was lucky enough to be able to attend the grand opening party last night in Manhattan, saw some pretty cool things, and met some amazing people. It’s one thing to see these props and costumes in pictures but it really is fantastic to see them in person. Take a look at what the exhibition has to offer.

HBO has been doing a ton of marketing for Game of Thrones Season 3. Most recently, JoinTheRealm.com, where you can create your very own House Sigil. (I did it yesterday.) But reddit user CerebralBypass thought to make them for the fictional characters of Firefly instead. And considering the limited options offered, they did a pretty great job.

Good news, HBO-less Game of Thrones fans. HBO has heard your pleas to make HBO GO, their online streaming service, available to those who don’t have cable. And they have responded with a resounding “Maybe. Eventually.”
Hey, it’s better than “no.”

In addition to the newest trailer, above, we’ve also seen a few short clips (featuring Dany and one of dragons, Jaime and Brienne of Tarth, and Tyrion and Cersei) from the first two episodes of season three pop up over the last few days. They’re under the cut for those who need every bit of video to carry them through next Sunday’s premiere. *raises hand*
One more week, guys. We can make it.

Can you imagine sitting in a coffee shop, drinking some tea, maybe wasting time on YouTube—and then you look up and Daenerys Targaryen is sitting across from you? Petting a cute dragon?
And then she starts yelling at the barista for not making her latte hot enough, because don’t they know that fire cannot kill a dragon?!
OK, I’ll stop.

George R.R. Martin is not a fast writer. We know it. He knows it. HBO knows it. People who’ve never read any of the Game of Thrones books or seen the show know it. He still has two books to write, and the show’s chugging merrily along, with one of the two seasons based on book three premiering in a few weeks. At a panel discussion hosted by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Martin had a few things to say on the possibility of Game of Thrones-the-show catching up with Game of Thrones-the-books.
It’s… not exactly reassuring.

When it comes to Game of Thrones TV spots, so far we’ve had “War” and “Beast.” And now there’s “Enemies.” It’s really intense. Like Stannis-talking-about-how-he’s-the-rightful-king intense. Or Dany-after-you’ve-stolen-her-dragons intense.
There’s not much new footage, but man that’s some good editing.

…or they’re just buttering us up so the pain we’ll feel by the end of the season will be even worse.
Yesterday’s trailer, titled “War,” gave us a sense of the larger conflict that will rage across Westeros in season three of Game of Thrones. This new trailer, “Beast,” takes a more personal approach to the major players. Says Jorah Mormont: “There’s a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand.”
Can it be the end of the month yet?
