  1. We Mashed Up Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four Trailer With Interstellar’s Audio, and It’s Uncomfortably Similar

I think I've seen this movie before...

The Fantastic Four reboot trailer reminded us of a lot of things, but none more strongly than the trailers for Interstellar. So, we gave it a run through the Nolan-ifier for you, and it's so perfect you can barely tell the difference. Be sure to watch all the way to through. Enjoy.

  2. Player Piano’s On The Spot Series Continues To Wow Us With Video Game Arrangements

As part of their recent Indiegogo campaign to raise money for Player Piano's more ambitious videos, Tom Grey asked musical genius Sonya Belousova to recreate songs from Halo, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Chross, Skyrim, and more after hearing them from the first time. Holy cow, does she nail them. It's like Aeris is dying all over again, but... like, in a really happy way?

  5. Microsoft E3 Roundup, Halo, Tomb Raider, Fable Legends, and More

Microsoft didn't want to talk about hardware much this year, so we've got a lot of games to look at.

Of course Halo got a lot of the attention this year with its high definition remakes and upcoming sequel, but Microsoft's entire press conference focused on games today, and there sure were a lot of them. Here are the high points in case you didn't have the time/desire to sit through the whole thing.

  6. Is the Halo 5: Guardians Announcement a Delay or Just an Announcement?

If your response is, "Who cares, man? HALO 5!" I won't judge.

Last year at E3, Microsoft announced that, in 2014, the "journey with Halo on Xbox One begins." Today, Halo 5: Guardians was announced for Xbox One for... fall of 2015. Some fans and journalists see this as a delay, but with rumors of other Halo plans this year, was this always the plan?

  7. The Halo Headband Will Make You Smarter by Shocking Your Brain

As apposed to other Halos that wipe out all sentient life.

Currently, there is no excuse for using the tired phrase "put on your thinking cap," but the Halo headband is trying to change that. The small device sits on your skull and zaps your brain with electricity to increase your focus, which probably comes in handy when you're trying not to think about the headband you're wearing zapping your brain.

  9. Cortana’s Voice Actress Will Provide Her Talents for Microsoft’s “Cortana” Voice Command Feature

We suddenly find Her 100% more plausible.

Halo fans, get ready to have a very Her relationship with your Microsoft devices. In not entirely surprising (but awesome) news, considering Microsoft has been calling their upcoming voice command rollout "Cortana" for months, it seems that Halo voice actress Jen Taylor will voice the feature named after her character.

  10. The Story Behind This Morning’s @UberFacts Tweet About Halo Armor

It's weird when your friend is an UberFact.

If you follow the Twitter account @UberFacts you probably saw their tweet this morning about the guy who sold an engagement ring and bought Master Chief armor from Halo. It's 100% true, and I know that because he's one of my best friends, and he's going to be writing for Geekosystem soon. He's Eric Smith.

  12. High School Gamers Better At Operating Robotic Surgical Equipment Than Surgeons

Robotic surgical tools are giving doctors more insight and precision into the surgeries they perform than ever before, but with the technology still in its infancy, many surgeons are still struggling to master the skills they need to make the most of robotic surgery equipment. It turns out that surgeons using robots could take a pointer or two from video gamers, who, in a recent study, proved as good or better than their MD bearing counterparts in tests of the skills involved in robot-assisted surgery.

  13. Halo 4 Stays Classy, Reminds United States Gamers to Vote

For many people, November 6th, 2012 may prove to be a date they'll recall for years to come. Some folks might immediately associate this with the presidential election -- for good reason -- but others will associate it with another kind of leap into the unknown: The launch of Halo 4. The latest game in the franchise marks the first truly new entry from developer 343 Industries. Knowing full well that gamers picking up their copy might lose themselves in it, they've included a brief note reminding players to vote if they live in the United States.

  14. Halo 4 Execs Bring Out The Banhammer, Threaten Lifetime Suspensions For Sexism on Xbox Live

    Essay

Start a discussion about harassment in games, and two words are bound to come up: Xbox and Halo. Seeing as how the latter is one of the most successful game franchises ever, which runs on one of the world’s most popular consoles, this perhaps has to do less with the game itself and more with the fact that it represents a huge chunk of the gaming community. Heated competition undoubtedly plays a part as well, but whatever the reason for it, if you want to show someone just how bad things can get in multiplayer gaming, Halo’s the poster child. Which is why it was a pretty big deal earlier this week when Gamespot published an interview with Kiki Wolfkill, executive producer of Halo 4, and Bonnie Ross, head of Microsoft subsidiary 343 Industries (the game’s developer). With Halo 4 poised for launch next Tuesday, they had a message for their players: Sexist language on Xbox Live will get you a permaban.

  15. Portal’s Wheatley Should Be In Every Video Game [VIDEO]

    Peanut Butter and Chocolate

I've never actually played Halo but I think I can say with a great deal of certainty that having Wheatley from Portal 2 involved makes it better. I can't be the only one to think so, YouTuber Toadking07 created the video after all. (via Kotaku) Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

  16. Why You Would Mute Batman on XBox Live

    Don't Try This At Home

A week ago somebody asked me if I saw any of qualities of Batman in a friend of mine, and I was honestly stumped. See, I don't spend much time thinking about Batman in relation to people I know personally, because, honestly, Batman's about the last person I would ever want to have a personal relationship with. Okay, maybe not the last person: it's not like he's going to slit my throat, douse me with fear gas, or snap my spine, but you know what I mean. The guy has next to zero interpersonal skills and even if he does like you, even love you romantically or as a member of his family, you're a distant second in his mind to the amorphous entity that is Gotham City. Plus, he's like, really bad at video games. (via Kotaku.)

  17. Halo vs. Predator: Tales of an Unexpected Playdate

    Almost Totally Excellent

Ever wondered what unlikely opponents Halo and Predator would be like if they dropped their usual intensity and just, like, hung out? At game night? Doing chores? Well, us either, but that doesn't lessen how fun it turns out to be to watch them do just that in this video. The best part's towards the end, so be sure to watch the whole thing. 19. Halo UNSC Logo Mistakenly Used for United Nations in BBC Broadcast

Look: We all make mistakes, but that doesn't make them any less amusing. This time, someone in the BBC's research department must have been running pretty fast and loose with the Google image search because he or she pulled this logo of the United Nations Space Command from Halo instead of the actual United Nations logo for a broadcast on violence in Syria.

  20. Halo 4 Gets Its Official Release Date

For a while we've all known that Halo 4 was going to be making impact soon. Now, Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced that the release date for the first post-Bungie Halo game will be November 6th, placing it after heavy hitting sequels like Assassin's Creed 3 and Bioshock Infinite. It's also worth noting that it happens to release on the date of the 2012 presidential election here in the U.S., but I'm going to go ahead and say there's probably not a huge overlap between voters and Halo 4 fans.
