Despicable Me’s Gru Visits Ellen, Shows Off Dance Moves [VIDEO]

Occasionally, animated characters are created to look like their voice over counterparts but that’s not usually the case. In Despicable Me 2, Steve Carell returns to voice Gru, the lovable former bad guy with tiny feet. Thanks to a recent guest appearance on Ellen, we discover they don’t affect his dancing ability.

Emma Watson, Zachary Quinto, & The Pitch Perfect Cast Experience Ellen’s Kid Reporters

The other day we posted a still from this interview session of Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine with The Ellen Show’s kid reporters/singing sensations, Sophia Grace and Rosie. The video has surfaced and features the adorable duo speaking with a few other stars backstage at the MTV Movie Awards. I’m not sure what part is my favorite, their photo-op with Emma Watson or watching the cast of Pitch Perfect try to upstage them at their speciality.

What Does Star Trek Into Darkness Have In Common With Princesses?

So much wonderful in this photo, it doesn’t even need to be explained. In other news, Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine are counting the minutes until they can talk about Star Trek Into Darkness for real. “The good news is we’re about two weeks away from being able to actually talk about it,” Quinto told MTV, with Pine adding, “It’ll be nice not to have to lie anymore.”

Now, release the video from this interview ASAP, Ellen.

Finding Nemo 2 is Finding Dory

When Disney/Pixar’s sequel to Finding Nemo was announced, there was a lot of speculation on who was going to get lost this time. It seems, to borrow a joke from Jill, that Dory may have just kept swimming a bit too far this time. In actuality, the film, which will premiere on November 25th, 2015, seeks to answer the question of just how Dory wound up swimming alone in the Great Barrier Reef, and to reunite her with her family. We’re certain that Ellen DeGeneres is suitably excited.

The World Doesn't End Because the Doctor Dances

Andrew Garfield’s Dance Skills & Pop-Culture Knowledge Are Tested On Ellen [VIDEO]

If you’re booked on Ellen it’s a known fact you will probably be asked to dance at some point during the show. The context may not always be the same but it’s always something to watch. In this particular instance Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield was asked to perform several different types of dances on the spot. For each one he got correct, $1000 would go to charity. The thing is, most of the dances required some significant pop-culture awareness, something I’m sure not a lot of actors actually have considering they’re too busy being a part of that very culture. Regardless, Garfield pretty much nailed them all. Give it a look.

Guys, Jane Lynch Dressed As Her Space Marine Character from Wreck-It Ralph For Halloween

See, this is why I didn’t call Reverse Trick or Treating the best Halloween costume ever. Because this movie-accurate costume is what Jane Lynch wore for her Halloween appearance on the Ellen Show. Another pic behind the jump.

Ellen DeGeneres Is Now the 15th Recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts named Ellen DeGeneres the next recipient of their Mark Twain Prize in May, and as it was written, so it has come to pass. The career of the actress, comedian, and host (of talk shows and award shows alike) was honored with a star-studded gathering at the Kennedy Center last night, and though we won’t get to see it until it airs on PBS next week, there’s still plenty of quotes.
