This past March 31, instead of its annual tradition of showing the classic horrible movie The Room, Adult Swim aired an unannounced showing of Toonami, its old anime block that ran from 1997 to 2008. After that, Cartoon Network started gauging interest via Twitter with the hashtag #BringBackToonami, and fans sprung to action. It was official. Fans wanted Toonami back, and Cartoon Network was ready. Toonami will return to Adult Swim on Saturday, May 26.

We’re always tickled by behind-the-scenes videos of the people who give voices to our favorite animated characters. There’s something about watching human people trying to get as close to a cartoon as they possibly can that we find simultaneously funny and endearing. Here, we have the cast of Dragon Ball Z, screaming with all their might to bring you the most entertaining animated program they can. We’re frankly kind of surprised they still have voices after all the screaming the have to do.

A certain imminent movie release got us thinking about Nazis, and how, unusually, for an actual historical movement, they’ve developed into the kind of perfect narrative scapegoat that’s normally reserved for entities of entirely fictional origin.
Which is not to say they don’t deserve it, because they do. Overwhelmingly so. It makes perfect sense that they’re right up there with zombies, demons, and non-sentient robots as entities that heroes are allowed to be absolutely brutal to without catching flack for it or otherwise in some way exploring the moral consequnces of their actions.
