  3. Wolverine Cat and Cyclops Cat Will Destroy Your House [Video]

Cats are pretty great. So are the X-Men. But put them together and you'll see that maybe we're all lucky cats don't have mutant powers. Here, enjoy both Wolverine Cat and Cyclops Cat (he's after the jump!) as created by Kaipo Jones. I'll be over here putting gloves on one of my cats and glowing playing cards by my other cat.

  4. Okay But What If Cyclops And Wolverine Were Actually Cats Though [VIDEO]

Not pictured: a giant cat-fight over Kitty Jean Grey.

Superhero fan and filmmaker Kaipo Jones loves cats almost as much as he loves the X-Men. After posting X-Men Origins: Cyclops Cat a few months back, Jones has continued his X-Cats series with Wolverine Cat! I think Wolverine Cat is going to need a serious scratching post.

  5. Cyclops Is Toast In The Latest “Ex-Men” Short From Pete Holmes

"Do you... shower with those on?

Pete Holmes (as Professor X) is down-sizing the X-Men, and no one is safe. The next victim on Charles Xavier's list is none other than the RayBan-clad Cyclops. Does it matter that he's the leader of the X-Men? Nope! Why? Because he uncontrollably shoots laser beams from his eyes. The firing really makes sense, when you think about it.

  6. X-Men: Days Of Future Past And The Summers Brothers Conundrum

    Cautiously Optimistic

When Lucas Till appeared in X-Men: First Class as Havok, fans everywhere felt a fluttering of hope that the two Summers brothers (Havok and Cyclops) might be reunited in some lovingly fan-servicey future where Cyclops doesn't die and there weren't forty years separating First Class from the first X-Men title. Well, mutants, you might have a chance. Bryan Singer, director of X-Men 1 and 2, has apparently said that he wants to "wants to fix a few things", according to Vulture's interview with Cyclops actor James Marsden. "Hopefully," Marsden continued, "[Cyclops' death] is one of them."

  7. Marvel’s Killing Off Another Prominent Character, Promises They’re Serious This Time

It's pretty much become a tradition for Marvel and DC Comics to kill off a major character every few years when they've decided they would like some publicity. Sometimes, they even kill off characters that died previously for similar reasons. There are a few instances where the death remains justified and seems to stick for long periods of time, Gwen Stacy comes to mind, but usually it just feels like another ploy to get folks to cough up some money. Marvel's apparently doing it again, though, and says it's going to stick.

  9. Newly Discovered CYCLOPS Gene Points To Vulnerability in Cancer Cells

A long-theorized but only recently discovered class of genes may point to an inherent weakness in tumor cells. Even better news? The soft spot in cancer's defenses is present in cells from a wide variety of cancers, meaning that treatments derived from it could be a tool in fighting cancers across the board, not just targeting one or two types. Researchers from MIT, Harvard and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute report on these so-called CYCLOPS genes (the acronym officially stands for Copy number alterations Yielding Cancer Liabilities Owing to Partial losS, but we suspect the name stuck mostly because it just sounds cool) this week in the journal Cell.

  11. The Scream, as Performed by Cyclops

Frequent Threadless t-shirt designer buko has a knack for the sorts of cultural mashups that the Internet gobbles up: See his printed designs for a Conan O'Brien/Conan the Barbarian shirt, Mr. T in tiger form, and the Joker/the Queen of England. This latest submission of his just may be my favorite: Edvard Munch's The Scream meets The X-Men's Cyclops. See it fully-sized after the jump:
