Pretty Soon You Won’t Be Able To Cosplay Current Daenerys & Her Dragons, But Not Yet

Cosplayer Amanda Dawn has pulled off what might be the largest Game of Thrones Daenerys with dragon cosplay yet. And well, you’ve seen how her little babies have grown in Season 4. Folks won’t be able to use them as props much longer (and stay current with the HBO show) unless they don’t actually want to enter the convention hall. Hit the jump for a few more pictures.

Strut, Flex, and Dance Along With The Cosplayers of London Super Comic Con [Video]

This video makes me happy. The ladies are wearing everything from corsets to genderswapped armor, and the gents look mighty dapper, too. Stuff like this reminds me that there’s no wrong way to do cosplay, so long as you’re having fun.

People of London Super Comic Con, you are all fabulous.

IKEA Helps A Cosplayer With Costume Organization [VIDEO]

Frank needs to get his shit together. Literally. And I know the feeling. As a cosplayer/collector of all things nerdy, my apartment is a bit of a cluttered mess. Thanks to IKEA Singapore, Frank now has a space for everything. Can I be next? And then can we do a thing where cosplayers create a costume out of stuff they found at an IKEA?

And for the record, the PAX wardrobe is not for his costume to one of the PAX conventions, but the actual name of the wardrobe. Nice coincidence.

This Genderswap Cosplay Of The Hobbit Cast Is Hair And Back Again

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen some genderswapped Hobbit cosplay, and while these ladies are certainly beardless, we have to admit they did it with style and class. Check out their efforts photographed by Alexander Turchanin.

This Tauriel Cosplay Makes Me Want To Cosplay Tauriel Even More

Fan reaction to Tauriel, the newly created elf for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit films, was mixed. But can we all agree on how cool she looked? As a natural redhead who’s been debating cutting her waist-length hair, seeing Desolation of Smaug made me second guess myself. Purely for cosplay reasons. And then came this. Cosplayer AngelaBermudez on DeviantArt put together a really great Tauriel replica that actually looks comfortable to wear. I’m all about that.

The Mary Sue’s Most Looked At Posts of 2013

On Tuesday we showed you our most commented on articles of 2013. It was a post full of the most contentious subjects in geekdom today: online and convention harassment, white washing, and, of course, the casting of Wonder Woman in a major movie adaptation.

But chatter is only one way to know that a post grabbed a lot of attention. There’s also views! So here are our 2013 posts that were seen by the most eyeballs. Your eyeballs.

If Merida Was A Cosplayer, She Might Cosplay Hawkeye, And It Might Look Like This

A while back, DeviantArtist Brianna Garcia created a fantastic image mashing together two famous archers – Merida and Hawkeye. Now, cosplayer Lisa Marie has brought it to life. Filed under: “Dammit, why didn’t I think of this?” (though I have done William Merida Wallace) You know, considering Disney owns Marvel now, any chance we could get an alternate universe one-shot where Merida is that universe’s Hawkeye?

Do Try This At Home

Cosplayers Photographed Outside Their Natural Habitat – At Home

Most of us are used to seeing cosplayers exclusively at fan conventions but they have to get dressed somewhere! photographer Klaus Pitchler has put together a series called “Just the Two of Us,” featuring Austrian cosplayers at home and in costume. The results are pretty spectacular and sometimes, a little bit creepy.
