  1. Envision Yourself On Air Targaryen With Game Of Thrones House Brands TV Ads

"Join us now and own the sky." With dragons, obvi.

  3. Dorkly Presents The Best Fanart From Nintendo’s New Super-Kawaii 3DS Ad

Too much cuteness for one post.

Nintendo released a new ad for the 3DS in Japan, and it was (of course) incredibly cute. The adorableness has inspired a wave of fanart, and the best pieces are collected over on Dorkly! Including 1920s beach dress Peach, hipster-dad Bowser, and definitely-crushin'-on-each-other Peach and Zelda.

  4. We Shouldn’t Be So Excited by This Commercial Featuring a Real Life Comic Book Loving Lady, but We Are

A comic book lady is a person in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neighborhoooood...

The SPIRE Federal Credit Union serves residents of Minnesota and Wisconsin, so that would explain why us New Yorkers have never heard of it before. But it's already found its way into our hearts, by choosing a lady who likes comic books for one of those "look how homey and personal and not a capitalist edifice we are" commercials. Comic book loving ladies: they're just like us! No really, they're just like us.

  5. These Australian Tampon Commercials Are Weird As Hell, And I Vagging Love Them

    "Your Vagesty."

How much am I loving our cultural Renaissance of period commercials? Very, very much. Especially when it gives us this (panty)line of ads from Carefree, which technically has as its aim dispelling common period-related myths. In actuality, I'm just glad they brought the names "Fanny Glitterwinkle," "Harmony Freebush," and "Stefan Van Der Blöed" into our lives.

  6. HelloFlo Returns With Another Spot-On Commercial For Menstrual Products

"Do you know how hard it is to find a uterus piñata?"

HelloFlo already declared themselves the refreshing antithesis to your average tampon commercial—blue fluid, always blue fluid—with their Camp Gyno ad from last year. Now they've done it again with "First Moon Party," a commercial for their period starter kit that doubles as a how-to guide for throwing your very own menstruation-themed party. I already did that for my birthday last year, but the rest of you could use the tips.

  7. Bizarre Evian Commercial Has Spider-Man Dancing With Baby Spider-Man?

Wait... does Evian turn you into a baby? What's happening?

If you've ever wanted to see regular-sized Spider-Man dance with a baby Spider-Man then Evian's got just the commercial for you! I won't say this isn't cute, but it's also completely bananas.

  8. Mystique Wants You To Know That Cheeseburgers Aren’t For Ladies In Bizarre Hardee’s Ad [VIDEO]

As far as Jennifer Lawrence-related tie-ins go, this Carl's Jr./Hardee's commercial is about ten times worse than that time Subway created a special sandwich for Catching Fire, that movie about starving kids. (The video has been taken down; I guess Subway got embarrassed.) The Subway commercial was mostly just insensitive and weird. This commercial, in which a (non-Lawrence or Rebecca Romjin) Mystique has to transform into a dude before she can eat a Thickburger, manages to be insensitive, weird, and actively offensive. Also making the rounds: A commercial that implies the reason sexist, catcalling construction workers are sexist catcallers is that they haven't eaten their daily Snickers. You can find that one behind the cut.

  9. Do You Want to See a Woman In a Pretty Pink Dress and Heels Break Tiles With Her Head? I Thought So.

    Pretty Pretty Princess

The woman in question is Japanese actress Rina Takeda, who has a black belt in karate. Those roofing tiles never stood a chance. Behind the cut you'll find a making-of video, and while I'd normally scoff at the idea of a credit card commercial, or any commercial, getting one of those, this time it's understandable. You won't understand any of what's being said if you don't speak Japanese, but skipping to 1:50 will give you two more angles on Takeda's tile breakage. It's the universal language.

  10. Car Insurance Commercial Remade With LEGO Proves Everything Is Better When Remade With LEGO

Why isn't everything in my life made of LEGO?

We get a lot of emails that are obvious ploys by companies to try to fool us into posting a commercial for them under the guise of it being interesting content. Well guess what, Confused.com: sometimes it works. They remade the above boring insurance commercial with LEGO and now we love them and their little robot Brian.

    Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Full disclosure: I didn't watch the Super Bowl. That being said, I am doing a bit of catching up on the commercials to spin out of it. You might be familiar with web hosting company GoDaddy's usual approach to marketing. Turns out, they decided to go in a different direction this year. And it's surprisingly positive.

  13. Here’s How to Watch Today’s Super Bowl Commercials Without Watching the Dumb Super Bowl

Football is the worst kind of ball.

You may have noticed a common thread in today's Geekosystem posts. That thread, of course, is that football is boring. That's because it is. Commercials that air during the Super Bowl tend to be pretty good, and for years we've had to suffer through football to see them. No more. Here's how to watch just the commercials.

  15. Here’s a Very Polite Sounding British Woman Talking About Poop

Poo~Pourri is a real product, and its commercial is real weird.

Poop smells because of the bacteria in your digestive system breaking down organic material. It's science. People have been trying to cover up the smell forever, but one company finally thinks they've got the problem tanked. Check out this bizarre video of a polite British woman on a toilet talking about Poo~Pourri which is a real thing. Really.

  18. HelloFlo’s Commercial is Not Your Average Menstrual Product Ad

    A Series of Fallopian Tubes

Compared to the terrible tampon ads that are out there (full of women running on a beach and laughing with salad while the narration discusses the torrent of blood evacuating your ladybits) it's always nice to see something novel in the world of period equipment. Enter HelloFlo, a tampon delivery service that sends along candy and Midol and the things that you really need when you're on your period, and their adorably funny commercial featuring the youngest gynecologist we've ever seen. 20. Apple is Reportedly Floating a Plan to Get Rid of TV Ads, a Grateful Audience Rejoices

No longer would you have to fast-forward through commercials on your DVR.

If you're sick of commercials when you watch TV, you're not alone. Apple seems pretty tired of them as well. That's probably why they're considering a plan that would get rid of ads altogether. The downside is that they would do so by charging users more money to pay off the companies benefitting from the ads, but maybe that's not so bad. I wouldn't mind kicking in a few extra bucks each month to not have to watch commercials.
