Mister Rogers’ Epic Four-Hour Interview About Children’s Programming
by Alanna Bennett | 5:40 pm, August 8th, 2012
Remember Mister Rogers? Of course you do. If you’re like a lot of American children, you spent countless hours during your childhood watching him put on his shoes. He was also just a delightful man who had a lot of cool ideas about how to bring education to young children. Rogers said, “I saw this new thing called television, and I saw people throwing pies in each other’s faces, and I thought, this could be a wonderful tool for education! Why is it being used this way? So I said to my parents, ‘You know, I don’t think I’ll go into seminary right away. I think I’ll go into television.’” Now there’s this nine-part, four-and-a-half-hours interview with him. We think it’s worth a watch.
