From Game of Thrones‘ King in the North to (possibly) Prince Charming. Richard Madden might have found his niche in handsome royalty. I’m not complaining.

Cancer Vixen is the 2006 autobiographical graphic novel of Marisa Acocella Marchetto, and now (well, soon) it might be an HBO series produced by Trudie Styler, Celine Rattray, and Cate Blanchett, starring Cate Blanchett.
Look, all I’m saying is that it’d be pretty great for television and comics to have a series about the life of a woman who makes them.

Last we heard about Disney’s live-action version of Cinderella director Mark Romanek was out because Disney didn’t take too kindly to the dark (read: Actually fairy tale-esque) ending he wanted. Now Vulture reports that Kenneth Branagh might jump in instead. But Vulture, tell me what I really want to know: Is Cate Blanchett still on board as the evil stepmother?

I tend to get a little cynical when it comes to fairy tale remakes, just because they’re everywhere and I’m sick of them. But there was one I was really looking forward to: Disney’s live-action Cinderella remake, because Cate Blanchett is going to be the evil stepmother and Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go, One Hour Photo) was going to direct, and how can I resist that?

Peter Jackson went so far as to add a new elf, Tauriel, to his Hobbit trilogy but it turns out a few of the women who already existed in J.R.R. Tolkien’s world didn’t make the cut for theater viewings. Sir Ian McKellen explains who.

I’m a bit cynical about the “edgy fairy tale” trend that keeps going around, but this new Cinderella movie Disney’s planning miiiiight just have gotten my vote of confidence. Why, you ask? Two words: Cate. Blanchett.
Nothing’s official yet, but The Wrap is reporting that Blanchett is in talks to play the evil stepmother in Disney’s “Untitled Cinderella Story.”
YES. PLEASE.

Cate Blanchett, how do you manage to look so ethereal even in candid set photos? Are you a real elf?
