We previously told you about the campaign launched by Allana Maiden asking Victoria’s Secret to make “survivor bras” to “help breast cancer survivors feel beautiful.” Maiden is close to the concerns of those with breast cancer, her mother Debbie Barrett is 21 years cancer free, and hoped a Change.org petition would help urge the company to participate. Yesterday, Allana and her mother delivered the petition to the company’s office in New York City and got really positive responses.

As you may already know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lots of different companies and organizations have projects to raise money for various charities but a recent move by Etsy has raised some eyebrows. They sent out an email with the phrase “Show your love to the women in your life with Breast Cancer Awareness Month” but a blogger realized very few of the items listed actually supported a breast cancer charity.

Okay, before we acknowledge how awesome this is, let’s address the flash on Kermit’s chest, which is probably just a camera flash or a light reflection, and not some sort of ET thing. Okay. Now: OMG The Muppet Movie is COMING! (At Geek Tyrant)

Remember the posters you saw in your high school locker room with the realistic-looking diagrams illustrating the proper way to examine your breasts every month? And how depressing they were? Dear schools: Start hanging the above poster in girls’ locker rooms. It has puns, it has adorable cartoon versions of cheerful (but cautious) breast tissue, and it has copy that women young and old will actually be interested in reading. They had me at “Gland of Milk and Honey.”
