  12. Are The Birds Of Prey Set For An Appearance On Arrow Season 2?

    DO WANT

We already had a Birds of Prey television show. While it wasn't quite what everyone would have hoped for, I stand by my love for it. The next time we saw Black Canary was on Smallville and that's all I have to say about that. But last season on Arrow we were introduced to Huntress and we know a new Canary will appear in Season 2. Can they complete the trifecta and get us a Barbara Gordon for a new Birds of Prey team? Hit the jump to find out!

  14. Katee Sackhoff Would Do Serious Things In Order To Play Harley Quinn

Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Yes.

"I love Harley Quinn. I do. I just love it...It's not been done before. It's this fantastic mix. I mean, it's like the female Joker. Who wouldn't want to do that? Quite potentially — it's not around so I wouldn't feel the weight of it — I'd probably sell my first born at this point to do that." - Battlestar Galactica and Riddick actress Katee Sackhoff speaking to Esquire.

  18. A Lesson In Illustrating Wheelchairs From Someone Who Uses One

    Allow Us To Explain

Not too long ago I asked a famous comic book artist to draw me a picture of Oracle and what I got was not at all what I expected. Barbara Gordon was depicted in a hospital wheelchair with a blanket over her legs, certainly not the Oracle I know. "How could big name-so-and-so not know how to draw someone in a wheelchair?" I said to myself but then I thought, "Probably because they aren't in one." That's just one possible scenario of course, there are plenty of artists out there (like Adam Hughes above) who get it right. But if there's a problem we all suffer from at times it's ignorance. Yes...all of us. Some more than others of course but even the most learned of us could do with a bit of education now and then and that's my goal today. It's certainly not meant as a dig, but through the years, it's become obvious to me that a lot of people are oblivious to the every day lives of people with disabilities (PWD). And that's why awareness and education are important. It's not that people don't care (although some might not), it's that they truly don't know what's appropriate in certain situations. Read on for a few examples of different types of wheelchairs, as well as those who use them, plus some commentary by a creator and an actor who are close to the topic at hand.
