And what job would they each have at the fictional school.

If you're not reading DC Comics' Gotham Academy, you should be. With two main female characters of color, cameos from famous Gothamites, and enough creepy castle action to satisfy any lover of gothic lit, this comic has something for everyone (especially for those of us who hang around The Mary Sue community). Issue 5 is out today, so we sat down with writers Brenden Fletcher and Becky Cloonan as well as artist Karl Kerschl to talk about our favorite boarding school badasses.

Yesterday the annual DC summit wrapped up at their new offices in Burbank, California, and clearly a good time was had by all (though it would have been better if they've stayed in New York City and we got to hang out with them... shh, no, Victoria, don't be jealous). Here we have Babs Tarr (Batgirl), Ming Doyle (Dark Universe), Becky Cloonan (Gotham Academy), Annie Wu (Black Canary), and Genevieve Valentine (Catwoman).

  14. Teen Titans Go Returns to TV, Amethyst of Gemworld Returns to the DCU (Written by the Creator of Jem and the Holograms)

    Great Hera!

DC Comics is coming up on the year mark on its New 52 reboot, and the 52 have not gone without some pruning and additions. The third wave of the reboot is now upon us, and contains one addition we're positively delighted to see. Not only does it resurrect a long dormant female character who most people have never heard of, she's also in something of a genre twist for the DC universe, and her book is going to be written by the woman who created hard-rocking, kickass '80s heroines Jem and the Holograms. Look, just let me talk about Amethyst and Christy Marx for a bit, and then I'll tell you about how Teen Titans is coming back to TV with its entire original voice cast.
