BBC Releasing Doctor Who Seasons 1-7 Blu-Ray Set With Sonic Screwdriver Remote!

A few months back, I posed a query to Twitter asking if anyone knew of plans to release the Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant Doctor Who seasons on blu-ray. Many told me it would never happen because of technical reasons I couldn’t quite grasp (they can put Hitchcock films on blu-ray, why not something from 2005?) but I held out hope considering, you know, the 50th anniversary is a great opportunity to sell stuff. Lo and behold, an email from BBC Home Entertainment landed in my inbox with news of a giant blu-ray release. Hit the jump for details.

Countdown To Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock

A full trailer was recently released for the official Doctor Who video game, Eternity Clock. It’s got the Doctor acting like his usual self and River Song (looking very Catwoman-like) up to her usual tricks as well. You may hear a familiar nursery rhyme at the very end, too. That’s from the Season 6 episode Night Terrors. Eternity Clock, being released later this year, is the first of three Doctor Who console game titles planned. The game will be available for Playstation 3, Playstation Vita and PC platforms and you can check out the PlayStation blog for more info. In our last post fans seemed sort of split down the middle about whether this was a good concept. What do you think now that you’ve seen some gameplay action?
