Things We Saw Today: This Giant Gollum Sand-Sculpture Might Just Haunt Your Dreams

Every year, the British town of Weston-super-Mare hosts a sand-sculpting competition, and… look, screw context. Here’s a half-completed sand sculpture of Gollum. Visit the A.V. Club for sliiiightly less scary sand sculptures of Yoda, King Kong, and Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones. Have fun sleeping tonight.

This Insanely Detailed Bag End Doll House Will Make You Want to Live Like a Hobbit

Why make a boring normal doll house when you can make a Bag End doll house? Maddie Chambers started this epic Hobbit hole by building a hill with a (round, of course) front door out of Warhammer components. Since the she just… kept going. Many of the decorations in her mini Bag End, from the living room rug to the food in the kitchen (perfect place for second breakfast!) are made by hand. I think my favorite details are the paintings of Belladonna Took and Bungo Baggins, though. A passel of pictures is under the jump.
