  1. Steam Summer Sale: Day 10 Deals

Finally, an affordable way to manage a simulated prison.

The gift that keeps on giving keeps it up with Day 10 of the Steam Summer Sale. Let's take a look at what's offered today and then collectively decide to stay indoors all summer playing games. Some titles are up to 75% off, and that even puts a few of them under $5. What were you going to do with $5? Buy a sandwich? Skip lunch and buy Worms Revolution. Actually, don't skip lunch. You'll need your strength for all that worm-on-worm action.

  2. Assassin’s Creed III Independence Day Trailer is Cool but a Bit Weird [Video]

Ubisoft released a new trailer for Assassin's Creed III today. Don't get me wrong, it's a super rad video. There are just a few things that might make you go "Huh?" A trailer for a game about stalking and killing people set to Amazing Grace. Huh? A call to "Ignite the Revolution" this July 4th. Huh? All this coming from the Montréal division of Rennes-based publisher, Ubisoft. Huh? Well, watch the trailer yourself and see what you think. One thing is for sure, I'll still be waiting in line this October 30th for my copy of ACIII.

  3. New Assassin’s Creed 3 In-Game Footage Shows Devastating, Graceful Combat. Also A Bear [Video]

We've been pretty excited about Assassin's Creed 3 here at Geekosystem. Between its unique setting and totally awesome tomahawk-skull interface, the game seems pretty promising, and this new in-game footage only heightens our anticipation. The combat shown here looks strikingly more balletic and visceral than previous games, and some of the movement has an unprecedented kind of momentum and weight behind it. All that pales in comparison to the bear though. There's a bear. I can't be the only one who thinks video games need more bear fights, can I?

  4. Sci-Fi Author Aims To Block Assassin’s Creed 3 Release, Claims It Infringes On His Copyright

Excited for Assassin's Creed III? So are we, so I hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news, but Ubisoft is now facing a lawsuit that could block the release of Assassin's Creed III. Science Fiction author John L. Beiswenger has just filed suit against Ubisoft claiming that the Assassin's Creed franchise infringes on his copyright by ripping off his novel Link. As such, he's requesting $1 million in damages -- $5 million if the judge rules willful infringement -- and that all future Assassin's Creed releases be blocked.

  5. Why Aren’t There More American Revolution Era Video Games Like Assassin’s Creed 3?

The recent confirmation that the newest entry in the Assassin's Creed frachise is taking place during the American Revolution has stirred up a lot of talk and excitement. Assassin's Creed 3 (which is actually the fifth Assassin's Creed game) will finally be pushing the series into new territory, introducing a new assassin after three consecutive games with Ezio, and bringing it to an entirely new continent. The American Revolution setting has been met with a great deal of excitement, especially here at Geekosystem, not only because of its potential, but also its freshness in the gaming world, which got us thinking: Why haven't there been more video games set during the American Revolution, anyway?

  6. Official Assassin’s Creed 3 Trailer Showcases Awesome Tomahawk-Head Interface [Video]

Assassin's Creed 3, first rumored and now confirmed to be set during the American Revolution, has its first official trailer and there is just as much tomahawk-to-face action as you would hope. Along with the Redcoat carnage, the trailer shows our Assassin Ratohnaké:ton (who is of Native American and English descent) racing through the snowy woodland, illustrating the potential of the series' first foray into the forest. The game is slated for an October 30th release and promises, if nothing else, to give the Assassin's Creed franchise a much needed change of scenery. Also: tomahawks.

  7. Shortly After the American Revolution Reveal, Assassin’s Creed 3 Screenshots Leak

Yesterday, news broke that the new installment in the Assassin's Creed series, Assassin's Creed 3 -- not to be confused with the actual third Assassin's Creed game that didn't actual employ the suffix of "3" -- would be set in the American Revolution. The Internet freaked out, because that's pretty darn cool (or terrible, depending on which way you freaked out regarding the news). Today, some screenshots have leaked into the wild, and show the still unidentified main character walking around a colony, as well as skulking around the wilderness. Check them out after the break, but hit the jump stealthily to stay in theme with the game.

  8. Assassin’s Creed 3 May Be Set During American Revolution, Star Native American

Ever since the release of Assassin's Creed 2 (and Assassin's Creed 2:2 and Assassin's Creed 2:3) people have been speculating and fantasizing about what Assassin's Creed 3 might be. French Musketeers? Russian Revolution? Modern day? Another game about Ezio? Now, finally, we have something to go on. A piece of completely unconfirmed cover art and a leaked banner suggest that Assassin's Creed 3 will take place during the American Revolution and may star a Native American assassin. Oh hecks yes.
