Watch Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill Start A Band, Star On Broadway

Matt Mira and Jonah Ray of The Nerdist crew recently travelled to London and accidentally wound up starting a successful band with Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill. Watch their epic rise and tragic downfall in under three minutes!

Also, tangentially related, we just found our Darvill is taking over the role of “Guy” in Once on Broadway for the next nine months. So if you ever wanted to hear him sing in person, now’s your chance.

Steven Moffat Condescends To Explain That Huge Doctor Who Plot Hole About The Ponds

Look, I’m not saying something not even invented yet needs to make sense all the time, but if you’re going to make up your own rules, at least stick to them. And don’t be a jerk when people ask you to explain. I’m looking squarely in your direction, Steven Moffat

Watch David Tennant and Arthur Darvill In The Trailer For Broadchurch

Fair warning, there’s nothing about time or space travel in this trailer, in fact, it’s pretty heavy crime material. The reason we’re posting the trailer for the eight-part drama series Broadchurch is because it stars Doctor Who actors David Tennant and Arthur Darvill. Technically it stars another Doctor Who actor, Olivia Colman (and well, probably more because tons of British actors have been on the show), but I’m gonna go ahead and make a while assumption and say many will tune in for the two fellas. The series will air on BBC America later this year.

BBC Writer Explains How Torchwood Lost It With Miracle Day

Your mileage may vary but I really hated Torchwood: Miracle Day. It took what was once a really unique sci-fi show with interesting characters and turned it into a bland U.S. extension with awful character development. If you found yourself thinking the same, you’re not alone. Doctor Who and Torchwood writer Chris Chibnall thinks he knows why it didn’t work.

Hello Sweetie

BBC America Acquires the Rights to Broadchurch, Starring Ten and Rory Williams. I Mean David Tennant and Arthur Darvill. Sorry.

If you live in the UK you already knew you’d get the chance to see Broadchurch, a miniseries about “the events and investigation that unfold in a small coastal town after the murder of a young boy,” a bit later this year. And now we’ve found out that it’s been picked up by BBC America to air in the States as well. Why is that news relevant to our American readers? Only because Doctor Who‘s David Tennant and Arthur Darvill are both in it. We thought you’d like to know.

Review: Amy & Rory’s Last Episode Of Doctor Who & Season 7 So Far

I feel like we’ve been talking about it for ages but last night it finally happened – Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill played out their last episode of Doctor Who as Amy and Rory. Some might say it was emotional, some might say it was scary. My view? I’d say it falls somewhere in the realm of disappointing. A spoiler-filled review of “The Angels Take Manhattan” after the jump.

The Mary Sue Interviews Karen Gillan of Doctor Who

As we promised a few days ago in our Doctor Who Season 7 premiere photo gallery, we’ve got three very special interviews from our time spent with stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, as well as new Executive Producer Caroline Skinner at the event. Since Gillan is a fellow redhead, I’ve decided to let her go first! See what she had to tell us about her own time travel preferences, how she feels about leaving the long-running sci-fi series, and who she thinks could make a great female Doctor.

New Doctor Who Promo Previews Ponds and Puns

It was officially (finally) announced today that Doctor Who returns to our lives in less than two weeks. As if that wasn’t enough to freak out about, we also have this new trailer for season seven. As one can expect with Who, the trailer is an interesting blend of hilarity, action, and impending doom. Oh, and puns. It’s also the first time this season I’ve heard anyone within the story mention something about the Ponds leaving voluntarily, which bodes well with my prayers that they won’t be killed off in some horrible fashion.
