Jamie Chandler, and new husband Christopher, had a wedding many dream of all of their lives. One where an evil villain sleeps in and misses the whole thing. What? That’s kind of what you were thinking, wasn’t it? Anyway, the Chandler’s looked like they had a whole lot of fun on their special day complete with friends and relatives who were willing to dress up as Disney characters to make it happen. Disney Princesses Re-Imagined As Women Of Color

Despite our immense love of all things Disney, we wouldn’t mind if they added a few more princesses of color — while we can’t get enough of Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana, and Pocahontas (despite that movie horrifically minimizing the impacts of colonialism), there is always more room for positive representations of women of color, especially in films that reach young girls beginning to steel themselves against a media culture that can be racist, sexist, and cruel. While we can’t exactly go back in time and influence Disney’s animators (though if we could, we totally would) we can at least squeal over these awesome race bent princesses, thanks to Tumblr user Lauren and Azaelea’s Dolls!

What Disney Princesses Would Look Like If They Were Actually Human

Jirka Väätäinen is a graphic design student at the Arts University College at Bournemouth in the UK, and he’s come up with some really interesting interpretations of what Disney‘s animated heroines would look like in real life using photo manipulation, including Aladdin‘s Jasmine, pictured above. Are they still bursting with unattainable beauty? Of course — but they are so incredibly human in these pictures. Even Ursula the Sea Witch.
