Wreck-It Ralph Gets Its Medal, Wins Big at the Annie Awards

Wreck-It Ralph was the King (Candy) at last night’s Annie Awards, beating out Brave and ParaNorman for Best Animated Feature. It was nominated alongside Hotel Transylvania, Frankenweenie, Rise of the Guardians, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, and The Rabbi’s Cat too, but honestly, did any of those have a chance? Actually, speaking realistically ParaNorman was a long shot as well, but I really (really really really… ) wanted it to win and may have deluded myself as to its chances a little.

Sandra Bullock Is Iron Man

When last we saw a Hollywood actress photoshopped as an Avenger it was Community’s Alison Brie as Captain America. Josh from Fan Art Exhibit decided Sandra Bullock was the closest he could find (in age and personality) to complement Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. For some reason, I’m picturing Alan Tudyk as Pepper now.

Little Firefly and The Episode You Probably Never Wanted To See

Ok, first off, check out this adorable Firefly fan art from Patrick Ballesteros (He calls them “Brownie Coats”). Now imagine them all covered in dog pheromones. Wait, what? Care to guess who’s idea that episode was?

The Man Who Brought Back Battlestar Galactica Is Bringing Back A Knight’s Tale

In 2001, we were graced with the presence that was A Knight’s Tale. The story of a peasant posing as a knight in the 14th century, an alternate 14th century of sorts, where David Bowie and other modern musical acts exist just so Lords and Ladies could dance jauntily at court. It starred Heath Ledger, Shannyn Sossamon, and Rufus Sewell, and it was delightfully terrible/amazing. The only logical thing to do is make a television drama based on it over ten years later, right? What I’d like to know is, why hasn’t Battlestar Galactica’s Ron Moore been attending our Knight’s Tale fan club meetings?

Comic-Con: While You Were Sleeping

So none of us could make it to the San Diego Comic-Con this year, but that won’t stop us from obsessively checking Twitter for the latest announcements, because, you know, that’s an entirely healthy to deal with not being there in person, right? Right? Well, just in case you’re not trying to live vicariously through Comic-Con attendees tweets for the next few days, here’s a round-up of some of the best announcements from yesterday. Hit the jump for info on Stephanie Meyer’s The Host, details on the reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, and even how to acquire your very own Aperture Laboratories jumpsuit!

Hey Browncoats, That Comic-Con Firefly Reunion Panel Will be Televised

We mentioned earlier some of the awesome things all us sad not-at-Comic-Con folks will be missing. Well, now you can be marginally less sad! Because it turns out that that Firefly reunion? It’s being filmed. And not just on some grainy flip-cam with sub=par quality so you can half-watch it on youtube later (although we’re sure that’s happening, too). Nope, it’s gonna be on real television, with some more good stuff alongside it.

Things We Saw Today: A Collection of Khaleesi

This person put together a collection of fanart surrounding Danaerys Targeryen for a 30 Days of Super-heroines challenge. We think she’d approve, but she’d probably counsel to go heavier on the dragons. In related news, this also made us ponder what the plural of khaleesi is. (1979 semifinalist)

Twitter Has Something Against Verifying Ana Gasteyer [UPDATED]

Ana Gasteyer, one of the most talented women ever to come from Saturday Night Live, a musical wonder, a devoted wife and mother, and one of the current stars of the ABC show Suburgatory, cannot get verified on Twitter. No matter how many pictures she posts of herself from her account, no matter how many pleas she makes — it has still (as of this writing) not happened. Gawker took a closer look at this and spoke to Gasteyer, and the mystery only continues to grow. Update: Since first publishing this post, Gasteyer has been verified!

Alan Tudyk, Stop Talking About a Serenity Sequel, You’re Just Going To Make Everyone Sad

But I don’t know, is there one planned? This is how I see it happening, and this is just all out of my head, please do not put this on anyone else ’cause I’ve gotten in trouble in the past but I see Nathan Fillion in another 10 years, teaming up with Joss Whedon and doing something where he brings back Mal.

Mal living on some planet alone, he’s shunned everyone and everybody and something happens that draws him back in to do it. I absolutely know that Nathan would be up for it, I know Joss Whedon would be up for it. Alan Tudyk, on a possible sequel to Serenity, the Firefly movie.

No, this is not Alan Tudyk talking about a Firefly movie that’s in the works, in script stages, in thinking about stages or any kind of stage whether it be stage coach, stage names, or stage left. This is just Alan Tudyk saying things that make us sad. More sad after the break (with cursing and possible Serenity spoilers).
