It’s hard to believe a year ago today, Jamie and I were coming off of two straight weeks of work getting the site ready, and we were hoping that anyone would look at it at all. That anyone would care about another nerd site, that people who knew what a Mary Sue is would see the wink in our name and read further, and above all, that other geek girls, who so often have a hard time identifying with anything branded as “for women,” would see that there were some geek girls behind this one. One Hundred and Sixty Six of the Movies That Came Out This Year, in One YouTube Compilation

If there’s one thing I like about the end of the year, it’s this kind of thing. Hatinhand has strung six different snippets of music together with a couple hundred separate clips from movies released in 2011. Each tiny clip that I recognize reminds me of the whole experience of the movie, where I saw it, what company I was in, and usually the mindset I happened to be in at the time. It’s been a long, crazy year.
