Ben Schwartz Totally Believes Stranger Things’ Steve Harrington Is Jean-Ralphio’s Father

THAT HAIR. Totally proves everything.

Remember when we found out that Ben Schwartz helped Bill Hader develop BB8’s “voice?” The subtitled GIFs alone were gold. Now, we’ve got a new (possibly true!) fan theory to sink our teeth into. According to Schwartz himself, who recorded a short video for The Late Late Show, Steve Harrington is totally Jean-Ralphio’s father. We’re assuming that Steve is also Mona-Lisa’s father, seeing as how they’re twins.

Schwartz laid it all out as coyly as Jean-Ralphio would. He even gets into how spending time in the Upside Down could possibly mess with the human reproductive system, resulting in “scared sperm or eggs” that would, of course, join to create the one-and-only (thank God) Jean-Ralphio. In Schwartz’s headcanon, Jean-Ralphio is also pals with the Demogorgon, talking about how it and Jean-Ralphio have a dance routine they do together and honestly that is the most precious/scary/appropriate thing I’ve ever heard.

Joking aside, the resemblance between Steve and Jean-Ralphio is quite striking. It’s all in the hair. Both of them have hair that’s really larger than life. And go ahead, take a look at these oh-so-perfect redone subtitle screenshots from Stuart Lovinggood’s Tumblr. Go on, it works! I’m telling you.

So how do we start a campaign to get a baby Jean-Ralphio on the show?
