And So It Begins

Here’s Our First Teaser For Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain

This “found footage” teaser apparently aired during the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead so some viewers may have been too distracted to notice. Plus, this video gives absolutely no indication it has anything to do with Guillermo del Toro’s vampire show, The Strain. But it does have something that rhymes with bats…

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh….I noticed and was like what the hell was that about…thanks! Now I know!

Is this supposed to take place in the Big Apple? Because I find it difficult to imagine New Yorkers reacting with such startlement to rats that are so small and so few in number. That was merely a shitload of rats, and you’d need at least two, maybe three shitloads to get a good scare out of your typical Manhattanite.

I headed straight to Twitter after that aired to see what it was related to, and this show was not on the list yet. I kind of enjoyed the idea that it was for the new TMNT movie. ;)

Ditto if this takes place in DC. The rats on The Mall are the size of cats, and nightly raid the trash cans in packs. Bleh.

Hm. I’m not sure I buy the fact that people would be THIS terrified by some rats nosing around. I mean, they’re not being violent, they’re not acting odd, they’re just…sniffing around and being rats. Hell, I LIKE rats, especially when they’re the fuzzy little grey domestic guys being used here!

    I was expecting cats.

When I read “The Strain” I thought to myself “This is a terrible book; but it would make a great television series.” So . . . good.

Until I saw this, I thought it was one of those “found footage” City Harvest ads that run in NYC. That we throw out too much food and the rats have found it… Shows how much I’m aware.
