The Rise of the Empire, the Fall of Vader and the Victory of the Rebellion… As Told by Charlie Chaplin

I bet you didn’t think that you’d find a Star Wars/Inception/Charlie Chaplin mashup today that would almost make you cry. But here we go. Footage from The Empire Strikes Back and Clone Wars, music from Inception, and audio from the immortal The Great Dictator. We highly recommend it. Stick it out to the end. Watch this.

WOW. Chaplin should have talked in more of his films! But, WHY did they have to use all that Clone Wars footage? I guess some people like it. Alright, maybe I’m a traditionalist, but I even I would have been okay with some footage from the crappy prequels instead of that weird cartoon stuff that all the eight year old’s at the school I work at won’t shut up about. Less Inception + more Empire footage – cartoon = awesome video.

While I would have liked some of the live-action footage, I think that they did a good job with the animation quality here.

It’s not “that weird cartoon style” anymore, thanks to Pixar. I, for one, am glad to see animation done in such in interesting way. :)

What Empire footage? That was from Return of the Jedi.

I realize it came off differently, but I love animation and totally respect it. I really don’t know enough about Clone Wars to know what I think of it, but my reaction was probably because I was thrown off by all the unfamiliar animated stuff, since I love Star Wars but don’t usually venture away from the (original) films. This video was very well edited,l though.
