Poster Artist Gives Star Wars The Film Noir Treatment

[View All on One Page]

Under the cut you’ll find four Star Wars noir posters by illustrator/designer Dean Reeves, plus a few non-Star Wars, non-noir posters for the likes of Batman, The Neverending Story, Metropolis, and Star Trek: First Contact. You can check out more on the artist’s website.

How pleased am I, an inveterate Rogue Squadron nerd, that all the Star Wars posters list Wedge Antilles as the director? Very pleased. Very, very pleased.

Wouldn’t the posters for “Metropolis” have been film noir anyway, or would it have been art deco?

Incidentally, has anyone else here seen the reconstructed Metropolis with live accompaniment by the Alloy Orchestra? ‘Cause that was seriously one of the best things I’ve ever seen live.

    Great stuff!
