Lydia, The Skyrim Companion You Love To Hate [VIDEO]

Video games feature a few non-player characters (NPCs) and like many NPCs, they are notoriously obnoxious to the point of hair-pulling, controller-throwing frustration. There is one such NPC in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Her name is Lydia. Here is Kristen Nedopak’s parody on the stalwart follower. I can hear her saying “What’s the hurry?” now…

My Lydia died first mission out. I stopped using companions after that.

I stuck with Erandur after he killed an underwater bear for me with fireballs. Lydia just sits in my room creepin on me and the husband O.o

“I am swoooorn to carry your burdens!”

YES! I was going to make the same comment. She says that SO SARCASTICALLY. Also, Lydia, if you say “I’ve never seen anything like that” every time we go somewhere, it kind of makes me not believe you.

I still love her though. I would constantly be overburdened if not for her carrying my junk.

Every companion in every RPG sooner or later pretty much turns into your mule. Hoarding is where it’s at!

Also I think the main reason I decided to keep Lydia around in the first place was because she looked really cool in ebonite armor I put on her instead of her original noobish attire… yeah, I’m that shallow

i “interview” all candidates by asking them to carry something, thanks to her.  not surprising, none of them are as annoying as lydia.

Oh man, exactly the same thing happened to me.  Of course, I later read that you can rez a dead companion with console commands, and now I can’t remember where she died… my house is so empty without her blocking me every time I try to go anywhere.

Oh Lydia… The worst is when you charge into battle and then realize that she’s 10 miles behind you, still running after your horse. She also regularly run in front of my arrows on numerous occasions and definitely enjoys my sword in her back.

Alas, now I have banished her to Whiterun and now Vikas always want to know, “What do you want to take my love?” Got to love a docile man ;)

My boyfriend mentioned Lydia died when he brought her to the battle of Whiterun so I leave her to guard my house. I’m sure it’s pretty boring but I feel bad getting companions killed!

Mine likes to strew my house furnishings about at random, and usually all over the floor.

I got rid of Lydia and now my companion is Mjoll the Lioness, from Riften. She can hold her own pretty well  and doesn’t mind carrying my stuff, but she’s much chattier, which can be annoying lol.
