When the posters came out, it was me in a jacket, Tom [Cruise] in a jacket, Jeremy [Renner] in a jacket, Ving [Rhames] in a jacket and Rebecca [Ferguson] in leather with her [butt] sticking out. It was like, ‘No, don’t do that.’ We’re doing something good here. Trying to, at least.

You can head over to Rope of Silicon to see the stark contrast between how Ferguson is depicted in the film’s advertising, and how her (all male) co-stars are portrayed.

“Butt pose” has to be one of the most widely accepted forms of pervasive sexism in advertising, so kudos to Pegg for using his privilege to call out the industry’s gendered double standards.
