This Sideshow Wonder Woman Statue Is A Gift From The Gods

[View All on One Page]

Sideshow Collectibles has released preview images of their Wonder Woman Premium Format Figure. She’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

A slightly different version will also be available. They explain, “The Sideshow Exclusive edition gives collectors the option to display the mighty warrior princess with offensive tactics, brandishing an intricately designed axe in place of her shield.” Both will be priced at $399.99 (payment plans available) and preorders begin this Thursday, February 13th. Though they are holding a contest for one on the site right now. But don’t enter because I really want to win it.

    sorry, had to enter. *laugh*

  • Amourah

Uh. When I click on “View All On One Page” instead of Wonder Woman I see a bunch of nerdly pillows. just fyi.

That’s…really strange. Look ok on my end, may just be a bizarre glitch.

Edit: Should be good to go now.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Ok. :)

  • Calum Syers

Well, this looks like something I’d want. *Sees that price is $399.* On second thought, if someone buys me these I will give you these magic beans. I realise that the can says they’re kidney beans, but ignore that, because they’re really magic beans. You can either cast a spell with them or make a really cracking chilli.

One day I will decide to buy collectibles at the expense of a secondary pastime. Like eating food.

Entered the contest because really, you DO not want it. If you win it, it will fall on you and gravely injury you. i know these things. So really, I’m saving your life.

  • Suzanne Larsen

a really cracking chili would cast a magic spell of its own *laugh*

I’m going to bookmark this as an example of what “power wish-fulfillment” looks like, as opposed to “male gaze/sexualised”. Even in a bustier with no pants she looks like she could break cities over her knee.

  • Ashe

I LOVE HER POSE. It’s confident and casual and thankfully absent of T&A.

  • E.V. Emmons

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it looks like a man with bewbs. I’ve seen more feminine looking transvestites.

  • MeatyStakes

    HBIC

    Cause damn son!

PS: Can you almost see something of Cobie Smulders in her face, or is it just me?

  • MeatyStakes

I don’t know much about boobs, but it kinda looks like the bustier leaves some breathing room on the side view (with the shield) But that makes me wonder, would the jiggle hurt?

Though at least I don’t think it will fall off, the rest of the piece seems to be molded to her body like it was sealed into it!

In here of all places *sigh*

She looks totally badass, and I love her killer muscles and the strength in her face, but I still wish she were wearing a bit more clothing. Seriously, who could fight crime in that? Her boobs would pop out and the shorts would be all up in her business in no time. *sigh*

    Magical Amazon tailoring prevents that.

If you’ve never seen one of these in real life, they really are amazing. They have a real presence.

I’ve worked for SS, and they are fans themselves, so they try to delegate each project to the artists who are passionate about that character. However, they are under pressure to sex up *every* female because there’s a reliable, proven market for that.

If this is closer to the direction you want them to go in more often, I hope people show them that this sells also.

  • Calum Syers

    Why you old ragamuffin!

  • Guymelef

Looks amazing! But am I the only one who thinks the boobs look too much like balloons that have just been attached rather than genuine, lifelike breasts? It’s a pity, as the rest of the model looks realistically in proportion. I know WW is meant to be well-endowed (or at least is always depicted as such) but this looks a little early Lara Croft-esque.

  • Charlie

I saw this on facebook and I loved it straight away. The boobs look a little strange but apart from that it’s great!

  • Nicole Elizabeth Currie

Oh look- they have a movie poster all ready! Now all they have to do is make the damn movie.

  • Alexa

The only part about the classic Wonder Woman look I would change is just have her wear shorts. Don’t get me this outfit is great, but if I *had* to change something it would be that, and that’s all. Otherwise I love the shield and she’s wielding and ax which is beyond awesome :)

  • odango atama

Love the last one. TRINITY. If Superman is the boy scout and Batman is the dark knight, then Wonder Woman is the warrior, the one who knows when to fight and when to use peace. A true warrior uses diplomacy first … and then breaks someone’s face.

  • Travis

You say that like it’s not sexy… :p

  • Joanna

    Her boobs are freaky O.o

  • Kate Drew This

It’s the facial expression that just nails it!

  • aerinha23

You are absolutely not the only one. I can’t unsee it.

  • DarthRachel

right? it’s like body paint over a boob job. so weird. i can’t stop staring at them.

  • Anonymous

Now this is what I’m talking about. That’s Wonder Woman, warrior supreme. That expression is so fierce, subtly smirky/self-confident, and bold. I love it!

  • Rebecca Martin

Great — another depiction of Diana that thinks she’s incomplete without a sword, a spear, an axe, or something bloody. The only god this is a gift from would be Ares.

  • Unity

Of course she is! But the sexiness here is secondary to her being powerful, just as it would be for a great pic of Batman or Superman. Which is why I don’t understand why this is unusual enough in comics to cause comment, instead of just the standard representation of women.

What bothers me most is she’s standing directly on a fallen column & then the entire thing has an even bigger distressed column as its base which makes no sense. All it does is make it harder to find room for it & raise the price.

  • Anonymous

I see some Evangeline Lilly or Lynn Collins in there too.

“A true warrior uses diplomacy first … and then breaks someone’s face.”

And I believe we have the movie’s tagline. I love it!
