It Came From Outer Space

Astrophysicist wonder boy Neil DeGrasse Tyson once said:
“We are part of this universe. We are in this universe. But perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the universe is in us.”

If you love the idea of the universe being in us, how about wearing it? New fashion house Shadow Play NYC will help you do just that.

Their collection of dresses, skirts and scarves feature beautiful prints taken from NASA’s Hubble Telescope. The designs are the work of Ximena Chouza and Ali Bennaim who are friends and real life star gazers, as well as recent Parsons Graduates.

Many of their products are made with 100% Organic Cotton Jersey, including the loop scarves, which feature images of the Small Magellanic Cloud Nebula, the Mystic Mountain and Eagle Nebula. The dresses and skirts playfully display an array of sky images that would look great for both casual and dressed up affairs.

The products are available on their website and Etsy. Prices from $45-$65 for scarves, $120-$160 for dresses and $260 for a floor length maxi skirt.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
