Welcome to Pull It Together, Our New Weekly Comics Post, June 25th Edition!

We've got issues. Lots of issues.

Last week we told you how to how to get started buying comics, but we left out one very important thing: which comics to buy in the first place! That’s where Pull It Together comes in. It’s a weekly post, on Tuesday, of a bunch of comics that are coming out on Wednesday that we think you should be aware of.

PIT is intended to be a place not just to showcase what we like in comics, but what you might like or be interested in, or what you should consider and be aware of. The goal isn’t to tell you exactly what comics you should read, but to narrow the field a bit by showing you titles that you shouldn’t overlook. It isn’t about what’s on my pull list, it’s about what could be on yours. (Ok though, but if I had to pick one ongoing series featured this week that you should definitely catch up on and read in its entirety, it would be Saga, and if I had to pick one new series featured this week that you should definitely consider starting, it would be a tie between Trees and The Wicked and the Divine.)

Each comic will be accompanied with its official solicit (that is, with the little summary/teaser that the company crafted to preview with it). I’ll do my best to make note of comics that are good starting points for new readers, as well as graphic novel releases or collections that mark good time to jump on a series, or otherwise any comics that would be of particular interest to folks just beginning to put a pull list together or looking to start reading something new. I’ll also try to take note of any widely available sales or special offers going on.

One last caveat: I am only human, and the comics scene is wide and wild. Are you looking forward to picking up a title this week that isn’t on Pull It Together? Mention it in the comments and I’ll take a look at it! (Just remember that PIT only covers one week at a time, not one month! We’ve got more Wednesdays to cover before I show you everything I crammed into the PIT Pull List.)

And now, without further ado, here are some comics that you should consider picking up this week. Happy reading! COMICS ARE GREAT!

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
