Official Set Pictures From The Avengers Are Here!

Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, we are finally getting an official first look at Joss Whedon‘ The Avengers! Pictures from the set will be appearing in this week’s issue, and naturally, they have already made their way on to the Internet for our viewing enjoyment. After the jump, see more set pics and the fancy cover for EW.

Above is a bearded Whedon, watching as Chris Hemsworth (Thor) regales a tale of glorious victory over some pitiful foe to Robert Downey, Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America).

First up, here are Scarlett Johansson and Marvel newcomer Jeremy Renner as Black Widow and Hawkeye, respectively.

And here are Downey and Evans, hanging out in the same picture without our even having to ask.

And here is that aforementioned fancy EW cover, featuring the whole ensemble, including Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk).

And you know what would be swell to see next? A trailer. But as we see these official pics, let’s take a walk — or a romp — down memory lane and remember what we’ve seen so far, like this “destined to become a meme” pic, which is full of every kind of joy you can imagine: The Thor-Cap Dance Party:

    Is it just me or is Thor’s hair getting even longer? In real life, fighting crime with his hair blowing in front of his eyes= not cool. Here, I’m sure it will look magnificent.

    Thor and Cap dance party would be so amazing! Anachronism stew, yum.
