Why Not Do It With Some Style?

(Some Of) The Most Impressive Cosplay Of NYCC 2013

[View All on One Page]

We’re starting off our roundups of New York Comic Con cosplay with a humble selection of the cosplay that just plain blew our comfortable sneakers off. Yes, that is an amazing Rita Repula costume. Yes, people actually did cosplay the Iron Throne. Look on them and despair, because your cosplay game’s probably not even close to this good.

Note: There’s a spoiler for Game of Thrones season three at the very end, so stop at Donna Noble if you’re not caught up yet.

I’m totally comfortable and confident in my cosplay game, but these guys are great.

I spoke briefly with a Cassandra Cain Batgirl who was snacking on some food… yet I never saw her mouth cowl open… o_o

You always have the best cosplay pics! **Side note: I’m not sure that Colonial Marine shown is supposed to be Hudson, since he’s carrying a Smart Gun. Hudson carried a standard pulse rifle. Perhaps he’d playing as Drake? Colonial Marine cosplayers are a lot like the 501st – they make up their own characters in the universe they cosplay in.

Cosplay is one of my favorite things about cons. I love people’s creativity, vision, crossovers, mad sewing skills, all that crazy fun.

The fish balloon totally makes that Delirium costume.

I saw that last one (the spoiler one) briefly while in line, and spent most of the day keeping an eye out for him so I could tell them how amazing those costumes were. Sadly, didn’t see him again. So, so good! (I mean, sad…really sad…but good)

  • R.O.U.S.

    Ruby is amazing. Love.

Thumbs up on Octopus Killer Ariel!

  • Orla Rose

OMG!! That Adventure Time group is amazing! LSP and Fire Princess are exceptional!

  • Cy

Seconded. If his mike did was capable of doing voice effects too I’d give him all the internets I’ve ever won.

  • Brittany K

That LSP is the best one I’ve ever seen. LOVE the hair.

  • Anonymous

    agreed…and also, yay, the endless!

  • Hailey Ferraro

Did you see the Shredder walking around with decapitated Turtle heads? I think he was my favorite… and I’m totally bummed I didn’t see Ruby :(

  • Cain S. Latrani

I will never be as cool as all of these people.

    Just awesome stuff. Well done.

  • GirlScoutSniper

Came to say the same thing! Though he’s got “Get some” written on his body armor (which is Hudson’s line), this guy looks more like Drake.

  • John W

My vote goes to Ruby Rhod.

  • Ashe

Agahhaha, Mako Mori and Marceline. They need their own sitcom.

That is a great Rita Repulsa cosplay. But can she do the amazing dub voice?

    That last photo…nope. NOPE. NOOOOOOOOOPE.

  • Jill Pantozzi

He was amazing and in character to boot!

  • R.O.U.S.

I wish I’d seen it! Ruby is one of my favorite characters – over-the-top fabulous.

“Little Mermaid: The Gritty Reboot”. I enjoy gritty reboot cosplay a lot more than the actual gritty reboots in film/games.
