Are your eyes as glassy as mine? Your legs as numb? Does your attention span divide neatly into sixty-minute chunks? If not then you better start training, kid: Netflix is now hiring professional binge-watchers, and I suspect competition will be fierce.
TIME reports that the UK/Ireland branch of the streaming service now has an opening for “taggers,” a position that would require applicants to “be responsible for watching and analyzing films and TV programmes that will be streaming on Netflix in the future.” It sounds like those duties could include previewing episodes of Netflix Original Series before they’re available for streaming, so a spoiler-free personal history would likely be an asset for applicants.
According to Netflix, taggers “deconstruct the films and programmes and describe them using objective tags” so “applicants with analysis experience (e.g. as a critic or work in development) would also be well suited.” So, like bloggers, right guys? I know, um, one or two of those.
Netflix promises taggers work from home and enjoy flexible hours. I’d consider paying them for this position, but then, I do that already.
