It’s not just women in general. Sexism is a huge problem in general but we need to acknowledge that race does play a big part in it as well, especially in Hollywood. I mean there’s a reason why women of color don’t have nearly the diversity of roles offered to them that white women get.

Huh – either something is funky with the comment system, or TMS disliked my use of the f-word. I commented that Seth McFarlene is both overrated and unfunny, and the only reason people think he’s funny is that they have a hard time telling the difference between “racist, sexist and insulting” and “funny.” Can you imagine if a black comedian did half of the crap that he did?

I didn’t watch most of the awards, but I assume that joke was done by Seth McFarlene, who I fucking hate. He’s seriously the most overrated person currently working in the entertainment industry today, and is only famous because some people apparently have trouble discerning between, “politically incorrect and cruel” and “funny.”

The treatment this child has received, coming to a head with the Onion’s “joke”, is just utterly appalling. This kid is 9 years old and was talented enough to be nominated for one of our nation’s highest acting honors and even that wasn’t enough to keep her safe from how much our culture just hates black women.
