#VOTEMAISIE: Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams Wants “Generation Selfie” to Vote

"Who's next?"

Maisie Williams turns 18 just in time to be able to vote in the May 7th general election in the UK, and in this completely-random-yet-awesome video for Dazed Magazine, she gives young people an alternative way of thinking about politics and voting, reminding them about the current state of UK politics while using Arya Stark’s more ruthless sensibilities.

The video coincides with Williams’ interview with Dazed, in which she talks about what it means to come of age in the current political climate:

I picked up my voice at a young age and I wanna use it. People think we’re fucking stupid and we don’t know anything about anything. It’s really degrading. I get a lot of adults who are like, You don’t know shit, and it’s like, You don’t know shit. You have no idea what it’s like to be 17 years old.

Mum was like, Read the manifestos and vote for what’s good for you, and I was just like… Err, none of this.

The entire interview is great, and proves that just because one is a child star doesn’t mean they don’t have a good head on their shoulders or don’t care about things that are important and beyond their own lives and experiences. Rock that vote, Maisie.
