If you’ve ever watched an action or sci-fi flick, or an action sci-fi flick, you’ve almost certainly heard at least one character reference a mainframe of some kind or another. It’s one of those tropes that crops up all the time, but it’s mostly innocuous, so people don’t recognize it as such. “Hack the mainframe,” or some version of that gets uttered by the protagonist and/or antagonist. If not them, then their tech-inclined underlings mention it. The good people at Slacktory know this to be true, and have crafted a glorious love song to movie mainframes.
