Be Furiousa You Can’t Ride in These Mad Max-Inspired Ubers

Oh, what a lovely day for a free ride!

If you’re in Seattle for PAX Prime this weekend, there’s a very real chance you’re gonna get to play Mad Max and Furiousa for the afternoon. And all thanks to Uber!?

Starting this Friday, Uber began offering Seattle-based peeps an opportunity to “Enter the Wasteland” with the help of a fleet of Mad Max: Fury Road-themed vehicles and drivers. According to a press release from Uber, customers will get picked up by “a Warboy” (read: driver dressed in costume) in one of these cars and be granted free travel to any spot in downtown Seattle (you can’t go outside the city because, of course, “The Wasteland is vast and gas is precious”). In other words, this isn’t your free ticket to Valhalla, but it’s pretty close.

This whole campaign, which runs through 6 p.m. on Monday, is meant to hype up the Mad Max video game, which is being released on Sept. 1. But, let’s face it, who would say no to a free trip in one of these sweet rides? Too bad Tom Hardy can’t join you for some in-car Dubsmash action.
