I'm getting too old for this ish.

Hollywood’s caught a seemingly endless fever when it comes to reboots, and it looks like the two newest additions to the list are no exception to that.

It’s being reported that Fox has ordered a pilot based on Lethal Weapon, the buddy-cop series of movies originally starring Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. According to Deadline, it’ll be headed up by Matt Miller, who formerly worked as a producer on Chuck and served as showrunner on the surprise-cancelled show Forever. Apparently, the reboot’s not exactly going to be straying too far from the original:

On the Lethal Weapon show, when Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs moves to Los Angeles to start anew after the loss of his wife and baby. There, he gets partnered with LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.

Meanwhile, CBS has jumped into the 80s reboot ring with its development of a new MacGyver TV show. Names like Furious 7 director James Wan and Henry Winkler (who produced the original series) are already attached to the project, along with NCIS:LA producer Scott Gemmell.

Twentysomething Angus MacGyver gets recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening. The CBS series also is expected to chronicle how MacGyver acquired some of his famous skill sets.

No word yet if they plan to bring back those quality voiceover intros, but can we at least expect an episode dedicated to MacGyver’s history with duct tape?
