David Tennant fans were through the roof this week when we learned he was set to become the second Doctor to join the Marvel universe but as it turns out, David Tennant himself might be more excited. Apparently he’s a Marvel fanboy.
The Radio Times got a hold of Tennant after the big news that he’d be joining Marvel’s Jessica Jones as villain Kilgrave and asked him about it.
“I grew up on Marvel comics, so yeah it’s very exciting to be part of their ever expanding entertainment empire,” he told them. “It’s great. I mean, I love the movies, I love the TV shows that they do, so I’m very pleased to be part of one.”
While he didn’t have any more details as to when the show would be premiering he added, “I grew up an absolute devotee to the worlds of Marvel, so the fact that they’ve expanded now into TV and film is something that I think I sort of fantasized about when I was younger. So now to be part of it, to be on the other side of it is a thrill.”
Oddly enough, when Radio Times brought up the villain angle Tennant replied, “Make no assumptions.” Hmmm.
