Ladies and Gentlemen: The Opening Sequence of Avatar: Legend of Korra

Alright, now, pace yourself. Legend of Korra doesn’t come out until next fall. Even The Promise, the comic series that will bridge the first series and the second one, won’t be available until June. If you aren’t careful, the sheer level of want that this sequence will put you in is going to conflict hard with reality. You might pull something. I’m just trying to keep you safe and healthy.

Until it gets taken down, here’s the first eighty seconds of Avatar: The Legend of Korra:

If it gets taken down, you might try here or here.

Erm, the first volume of The Promise comes out in January I think, pretty sure it’s the third and final volume that comes out in June.

    Damn you, Viacom sanctioning!

I am so excited for this! Also, J.K. Simmons is the voice of Tenzin!

Boy, variations on the name Cora sure are popular amongst televisual spec fic media these days, huh? Quorra from TRON, Cora from Astroboy, and now this.

The animation looks considerably slicker than the old show, so color me optimistic! I’m relieved the movie didn’t sour everyone on the franchise.

I absolutely cannot wait for this show! The first volume of the comic is definitely going to make a great birthday present this January ^_~ But man-oh-man, Viacom moves quickly! The trailer has already been completely erased on youtube. I would think that releasing a teaser like that would have been an awesome strategy on their part to drum up renewed interest for the show, but hey. That’s just my opinion.

I really don’t understand the strategy of taking town trailers. I mean, they’re trailers. It’s like suing someone for printing an ad for your product without you asking them.

Take my money. Just take it.

Which companies do as well >_< But it doesn't make sense. It's not like they were going to make any money off of this, or it was going to prevent people from watching the show when it came on. NO ONE is going to say "Oh, well I saw the intro online months ago. No use watching the show now." They should really start actually learning about viral and consumer marketing.
