According to “individuals with knowledge of the project (aka spies!),” The Wrap reports that a sequel to February’s Kingsman: The Secret Service is currently in development at Fox.

Although I loved the original film overall, I was definitely one of the viewers (or “bloody feminists,” to quote director Michael Vaughn) who felt that the now-infamous “joke” at the very end of the film was a letdown after the movies’ otherwise awesome representation; and although that scene alone wouldn’t have been enough for me to dismiss a sequel outright, Vaughn’s mansplaining response to criticism was. And yet. And yet:

So yeah, obviously Alexander is just yanking the Internet’s chain here (why must you be so cruel, my queen?) but how cool would that be if Alexander (or any woman, to be honest) could get a crack at Kingsman 2?

Regardless, if Vaughn is still in the director’s chair it may be awhile before Kingsman fans get their sequel (pending Flash Gordon‘s shooting schedule, that is)–in the meantime, at least we have Sofia Boutella’s role in Star Trek 3 to look forward to.

What do you think, friends?

[UPDATE] I think this exchange speaks for itself.
