WeLoveFine Debuts Superheroine Collection Curated by Kelly Sue DeConnick

[View All on One Page]

Captain Marvel and Avengers Assemble writer Kelly Sue DeConnick has joined forces with WeLoveFine to curate a collection of Marvel superheroine tees, just launched today, that are right up our alley—and, I’m guessing, yours too. There are more shirts to come; DeConnick notes on her Tumblr that “there are at least two more designs that have been submitted for approval, but it will all depend on how well [the first three] do.” (So get buyin’.) They come in male and female cuts and, best of all, DeConnick is donating her curation commission to the Girls Leadership Institute, which hosts camps and workshops “designed to teach girls, educators and parents the core practices of emotional intelligence, healthy relationships, and assertive self-expression.” Captain Marvel and Spider-Woman would be proud.

Enough blabber from me. Hit the jump to see the shirts.

I’m not usually tempted by nerd-shirts, but I do like the “and we will be the stars we were always meant to be” one.

I HAVE WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR JESSIE DREW AND CAROL DANVERS T-SHIRTS.

    Caps because I’m flipping out.

We Love Fine is a superb company. Really fantastic. I cannot recommend them enough. And their CS Department is wonderful. :)

WHAT BREAD DOES SPIDER LADY WANT? HULK HAVE RYE, WHEAT, OR PUMPERNICKEL.

I heard her and Bendis are no good for that comic that apparently takes place in the movieverse, Avengers Assemble. I refuse to believe it takes place in the mainstreamverse (ditto the GotGendis comic)

This article appeared in my twitter stream just as I finished buying the “Don’t lady me son” tee. I’m pretty tempted by the “hulk make me a sandwich” one too

Heheheheh, kiiiinda want the Spider-Woman one. That scene cracked me up.

*sigh* Shame WLF’s shirts are so pricey. I’m always really choosy about which one to get.

Bendis? Eh, if it was him writing it at the beginning (don’t remember), then yeah, it was kind of forgettable.

DeConnick? She is AMAZING. Under her pen (and especially with the artist on the first arc) it reads like the glory days of JLI. It’s wonderful. It’s the right balance of funny and fun and drama and excitement. It just reminds you why you love these characters and want to spend some time with them each month.

(The comic doesn’t take place in movieverse. Easy mistake to make with the early stuff. It’s just supposed to be an easy jump-on for movie fans.)

I might need the “Hulk, make me a sandwich,” tee. Also, I might need a sandwich.

Don’t ask the Hulk to make you a sandwhich… he’s not too bright… it’ll taste terrible… Ask Tony or Cap…
